Here is what it looked like on my boob not much different then a paisty but the law does not even state it has to be a paisty that is only what they cops said they thought the law meant! If that does not seem a little strange I don't know what is and who is to same what fully Opaque that is a matter of opinion one judge could say this was and another could say it was not. Also that could mean no girl with a white t-shirt on can go out of the house without a bra on. It is not very clear at all and that is why I am fighting it not just because I think the cops are harassing me. Below you will see exactly what I had on my breasts the night in question as well as the law as it reads here in Lincoln. Melissa

I guess I would say it?s about what I expected but I still plan to file the appeal on Monday for both the conviction and the sentence because I still think it was crap. This may take up to a year to get resolved so I will go ahead and get my probation out of the way in the mean time. I also almost have my lawsuit ready to file I hope within the next 10 days it will be done. I am sure you will hear about all of this on the news but I wanted to share it before it was all over the place. Melissa

It wasn't his fault there isn't an attorney in the world that could of won this first one! The local cops, judges and city attorneys stick together around here. Once it moves to the higher courts it will be thrown out but I have to go through the motions first I guess. Melissa

Tell that to OJ Simpson.

Haha yea right, I believe that for a second. Nobody is going to care about a misdemeanor on your record unless you plan on running for mayor or some other political job. But I have a feeling the porn site you ran will far outweigh any misdemeanor charges on your criminal history.

Here is a quote from wikipedia

Quote:

Misdemeanors never result in the loss of civil rights, but may result in loss of privileges, such as professional licences, public offices, or public employment
So if you ever run for mayor, I think melissamidwest.com will stop you before your public nudity charge will. You're just trying to draw national attention into this minor incident as the ultimate promotional tool for your website.

You know what they say, any press is good press in some situations, and this is one of those situations. The more public exposure you get to this situation, the better your sales do. I doubt it has anything to do with trying to 'beat the system' for being unfairly arrested. The judge knew it was unfair which is why he slapped you on the wrist.

Not that I blame you for doing it, but don't piss on our backs and tell us it's raining. This is clearly just a publicity stunt at this point, especially after the slap on the wrist you got.

Melissa,
While it is BS that you did get charged, you do not want to buck the system in the Midwest. Today it is only a misdemeanor, but when they have had enough of your shenanigans, they will hit you with something hard and probably very unjust. Wait until they draft new zoning laws that will not allow you to even operate in your city. Or when they make a call to the IRS to audit you, year after year.

Yes, it's cute to get the attention you are getting and yes it was stupid for them to even charge them, but the Midwest is full of good 'ol boys who will not stop until they own your ass.

The last person I knew to buck the system in the Midwest lived in Cincinnati had their home raided... with the local news along for the raid. So my friend who had never touched a drug a day in his life all of a sudden was found with just enough cocaine to lynch him. Then the IRS audited him. They did almost 20k worth of damage to his home during the raid when they busted open walls, tore up parts of the floor and even pulled SHIT back out of the toilet in case he had flushed something during the raid.

You will do what you feel you need to do, but the next time when something bad happens as a result, don't say some of us didn't tell you so.

But don't take MY word for it... I'm sure Larry Flynt would be more than happy to tell you a thing or two about picking fights in the bible belt.

Anyway, best of luck. It does take balls to fight back. I hope it works out in your favor. :thumbsup
