why do some of my burnt dvds...

start skipping and fucking up usually after 1hour 20mins? They work flawlessly until they get late into the movie and start skipping. I used to think it was because i was doing other things on the computer while it was burning. It's not that though because I've been burning lately with nothing else working on the computer. Why the hell does it do this? I use nero btw...

that happens with some of the dvds that i buy...i always thought it had something to do with the dvd player over heating or something? I really have no idea though, sorry.

some companies like Sony and Disney use a different encoding process to detour the pirates...

How olds your dvd player you play them on? IF its a home one, and not a pc one, probably just need to get a newer one, mine skips sometime. Lots of different factors, try different DVD's to record with, try different speeds etc. etc. until you get the best result. Never heard of the companies doing it on purpose to deter pirates, if u use dvd shrink or similiar it just rips the protection straight off it. Try turning your virus software off as well, sometimes this can effect things apparently.

It's the dvd player, I have a shitty one that I've not gotten around to replacing. Once it starts to overheat I just throw the dvd's into the ps2, and they work fine.

Restart your computer before each burn and see if that makes a difference. I had the same problem and that is what fixed it for muah.

that is a load of crap , who ever told you that info doesn't know what they are talking about , all dvd video's use Content Scramble System (CSS) ,its the international standard,

as for the problem at hand , try burning at a slower speed and change media

I used to have that to all the time.
I started using better brand DVDs, and the problem was gone.
Some DVD players have problems becuase they get overheated while reading certain discs.
I to thought it was because of doing other things while burning.

Try to find Verbatim DVD+r, they are the best quality. You pay a little more, but you'll probably never have problems again.

The new Verbatim disks are really great, the old ones sucked more cock than Paris Hilton. I used to use TY discs religiously but Verbatim got their shit together and I can't tell the difference at all, even cheaper than TY to boot.
