Questions dvd to wmv format
Hi!
I have to convert a lot of dvds in wmv files... I've made test with AVS converter but i found convertion time too long : for 1mn of video, it takes 2mn40 ( +/- 12 fps ) to convert! Is it normal? ( whole dvd = +5 hours ) Here are my output settings : 640/480 1200 kbps 192 kbps Do u think another software than AVS would be better (faster)? Intel CPU or AMD X2 ? ( both dual core ) These test has been made on a dual core intel 3ghz, 1gb mb Thanks, have a good day. |

DVD ripping and encoding is a long process. I use many computers tied together in a cluster to handle more volume.
THe WMV compression is one of the slowest. Try MPEG-4 or H.264 ;)

Get Videocharge It is the easiest and fastest way to convert DVD's. No matter what you use it will take at least the same amount of time to convert if you are going for highquality. Videocharge just does it easier than anything else I've used.

use dvd decypter... it will decode your DVD into VOB files in less than 30 mins... use virtualdubmode and open the vob file and render it into uncompressed AVI keep the quality of the movie.... then use whatever software you're using to render avi into wmv... this will take about 3 hours or less esp. when you're using dual core computers... if you want this job done, im a video editor btw... just hit me up... see my sig
