No more carry-on luggage? GOOD!

As a person that doesn't like to fly I have always hated people that drag all their fucking shit onto the plane and jam the aisles while they fuck around trying to fit all their crap into the overhead bins. Time to make those assholes start checking their bags.

I just take a book or two with me. What do I need hair gel for in the plane?

Yeah I always contemplate carrying on as well so I don't have to wait in baggage claim, but I am too lazy to lug all that crap around. Plus I don't want the dirty looks from other passengers. LOL.

Sorry but, I don't like putting my laptop into my checked luggage. Although I do carry on a bag or two, I don't stand in the flipping aisle forever. I normally put my bag under the seat in front of me. Easy in, easy out.

I have no problem with magazines, books, DVD players, laptops, mp3 players, etc. It's the people that drag ALL of their luggage onboard that piss me off.

Have to agree about the luggage stuffers. I saw a bin pop open once and the guy below it got whalloped with the fallout.

This thread must be filled with people who have never had their luggage lost by the airport. Which I may add happened to me, flying into Fort Lauderdale last week for the first time ever. Just think how congested the baggage claim, and how inefficient the entire process is, and multiply that by 3 now. That is what no carry on luggage will bring.

The security people say a lot about themselves when they won't even allow you to take a liquid on a plane that you purchased in a SECURE area...

90% of the time I only travel with a carry-on size backpack. Extremely convenient.
No need to wait for any luggage.
Airline will not lose my luggage.
It reduces the crap I can buy

Wait until you see what a cluster fuck baggage claim is going to become now. If you get your bags at all.

I'm glad in a way. We go on vaction in 3 weeks time. My girlfriend always takes too much shit with her, so her luggage is always full, plus she tries to take all sorts onto the plane with her, which usually means i get landed with having to carry it on, try and find space in the compartments for it, and then struggle to get it back off the plane again.

I was happy to tell her the news today that it looks like those days are over...

I'm with godisdead -- bring a fucking book. I understand why people want their valuables (cameras, laptops) on the plane with them, but does everyone need to bring their very own flight simulator and theatre system with them on the plane? People need to learn to settle down and play a game of solitaire or something.

I've lost my luggage on planes SEVEN TIMES thus far. Thank god I always carried on a fucking carry-on, otherwise I'd only had the clothes on my back. Man... this is going to be great, can't wait to see how many people get all new shit thanks to them loosing even more of people's luggage, especially digital cameras/laptops (hell, even if they don't lose the luggage you'll still probably have a dead laptop or digital camera, fuckers treat luggage like they are footballs).

I saw a great sight when I was in Memphis.

Outside the airplane there was this black dude who grabbed each and every luggage with what ever strap that was closest to him, dragged it off the cart (a good 3-5 feet off the ground) and onto the tarmac, over the tarmac (15 feet) and then pushing it onto the thing that takes it into the airplane. Sometimes he made it, sometimes not and it rolled off the other side (another 3 feet to the ground).

I was quite happy that I had all fragile stuff in my carry-on
