i like this moveis...

Loki 08-07-2006 01:59 PM

Watching it right now for the 3rd time in 2 days lol

This is indeed a VERY powerfull movie, dialog is fan-fucking-tastic, the cinamatography<sic> is amazing, and the entire "gov" costumes are great!

The ONLY thing I was a bit pissed about is that their does not seem to be any commentaries on the DVD (Or is there another version out there?) All I have on mine is "The making of V" which IS a good watch but I really want more extras with this one!

By the way this IS a pro-terror movie, (it's even called that in the "Making of" bonus feature, V is an Anti Hero, like Snake from escape from new york, but the fact remains that V is a political terrorist, but because of his 'mission' the audience is drawn to him and look at him as a 'hero role' thus making the film a "Pro Terrorist" film, BUT it does not mean that if you liked the movie, plot, char that you yourself are pro terrorist.

All in all deff a great movie, 4 out of 5 stars from me for sure!

I watched it in the States and it felt odd because pretty much most people in the audience didn't know who Guy Fawkes was or why he is a big deal to the British.

I thought her accent was horrible and 'the moral' was a bit too crammed down the throat.

You should read the comic too, it was originally a comic and they did a fine job of bringing it to the big screen, and timing wise, I don't think they could have chosen a better one considering how things are in the world today, a real eye-opener :2 cents:

I watched the movie in the theatre, and have rented the DVD as well, it was THAT good a movie :thumbsup

Though I'm a big as fan as bald jewish pussy as much as the next guy, I just couldn't get into the movie. It was kinda outlandish, even in a 1982 sense, though it wasn't a bad at all; it came together pretty fluidly. Still, I would rather spent my rent on Inside Man rather than V.

MyNameIsNobody 08-07-2006 02:11 PM

not the best movie I've seen.. but still enjoyable

avalanche 08-07-2006 02:27 PM

Going to check it out tonight....These movies are always decent if you go in knowing what to expect!

Thomas1007 08-07-2006 03:44 PM

watched it last night, was pretty good. :2 cents: :thumbsup

DIH 08-07-2006 04:01 PM

Kimmykim 08-07-2006 04:05 PM

I missed the last 15 minutes or so when I fell asleep... up to that point, it had some good points and some ridiculous ones as well.

Kristian 08-07-2006 04:14 PM

Mixed feelings. I dont think it delivered and was a missed opportunity on many levels. Nonetheless, it was a fun, brain-take-a-back-seat, watch.

ChefJeff 08-07-2006 04:15 PM

Great fucking movie. The Govn't should fear the people.

Loki 08-07-2006 05:51 PM

Remember remember the fifth of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder, treason
Should ever be forgot...

Spunky 08-07-2006 05:54 PM

I didn't like it..found it boring and turned it off half way through it

Loki 08-07-2006 05:54 PM

Voilha! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.

Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

That monologue is awesome and Weaving delivers it with panache. One of my favorite introductions of all time. However, he should also have added "verbose" :1orglaugh

Bozena X 08-07-2006 06:20 PM

outstanding

Juilan 08-07-2006 06:26 PM

Loved it. Brought back a lot of dystopian novels I used to read. Great transfer to dvd also, looked smashing on the plasma.

The Captain 08-07-2006 06:33 PM

I thought it was a good movie too

reynold 08-07-2006 06:56 PM

I haven't seen the movie yet but, yes, Natalie Portman is hot. :)

Loki 08-07-2006 07:22 PM

Who are you?

Who? Who is but the form following the function of what, and what I am is a man in a mask.

Well I can see that.

Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation, I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.
