The last time I was in Germany I tried Club Mate - it's kind of an highly caffeinated ice tea. Once you've got used to the taste it does pretty well in keeping you awake - without the tons of sugar used in various energy drinks or sodas...

Energy drinks use caffiene, not sugar.

In Quebec we have a thing called Shok. It's beer or something overcranked with caffeine/guarana, and it comes in a can the same look and size as Red Bull. You can drink on the job.

I've been hitting the Sobe No Fear lately - has guarana, ginseng, creatine, tons of B vitamins and who knows what else.... I like it a lot better than the caffeine-only energy drinks and it actually tastes pretty good.

All todays energy drinks like bull and bawls are just concentrated sugar and cafiene and do hype you up but leave you with a jittery uneasy feeling. a few years ago when I was in my early twenties I was working up in the apalachan mountains on the pipeline, yeah im talking deliverance. There was only one store in the area and it has this drink called Dr. Enuf http://www.drenuf.com/ . Holy fucking shit, if you can get your hands on any of this shit you wont fucking believe the effects, never seen anything legal like it. :winkwink:

Red Bull and other shit are not energy drinks at all, because they do not give you an energy! Caffeine is a stimulator which makes you feel illusory cheerfully. Be sorry for your heart and never drink it!
