You have a good point. Beleive me, I've been doing the model recruitment thing for a long long time now, and have the process down to a science. I weed out certain people right on the phone, and I meet the rest at a local coffee shop before setting up an initial shoot. This gives me a good amount of time to get to know them and allow them to know me too and get more comfortable with the whole thing.

But this particular girl came along when my business was still really new, and circumstances just happen to bring her to my house for an initial shoot. She was terrific at that time, the pics sold instantly. Who knew that 3 years later she'd turn into little-annie-crackhead-from-hell??

As for my 1st husband (my boys' natural father), they wanted me to contact him a couple of years ago. He has visitation rights that he rarely ever bothered with. The boys wanted to see him. Sent a letter through the State Child support office. Only way I know that he got the letter was that he took me to court to get his support (which he never has paid unless they catch up with him) reduced to $50 a month. Obviously he drove by the house and decided that the boys didn't need his money.

I have storied to beat the band about my ex (the "it's not about the money" one). I can't say I wish I'd never met him because chances are I'd still be sitting in some office doing accounting for someone else and making $50K a year. Because of the shyt he was doing I hid myself behind a PC at home in the evenings and the rest is history.

Yes but in a community property state each spouse is entitled to an equal distribution of the assets. My biz was started while we were together. Even tho he never lifted a finger, doesn't even know how to turn on a PC, etc.. if he'd had the money to get an attorney and take me to court they would have had my biz valued and I could of paid him half of that. Instead, because he'd not worked for 18 months before I booted his ass...he didn't have shyt for $$. In fact, called me whining a month after wanting money (in advance) so he could get an attorney. I told him no signed asset dispursement, no $$. So he was over a barrel. I got off way way easy. $250K at the rate of $5K per month, and the $95K loan on the $150K boat which he's now decided to try to sell. If we'd battled over a biz valuation it could of been many times that amount.

i learned this one from a good friend... this would go well with both stories...

The reason for splitting up in many of these instances is that the "ex" is being an idiot in some way, and is making a lot of lives miserable. Jimmyf is right, she will more than likely be back. Over the past 3 years, whenever I've run an ad in the local paper for new models she has called me up. She has shown up at my door before, like 2 years ago after she and some of her crackhead friends had a bad car accident. She was taken to the hospital that I used to work at (it's only 1 block from my house), but she left the ER because they wouldn't "just give her something for the pain". They insist that patients play by <i>their</i> rules, not the patient's rules, so she walked out.

I named it cause it was PK money that bought it. Because I didn't trust him maneuvering it at the dock while I jumped off the transom to tie up, I also had to learn to 'park it on a dime'...and boy.. moving something with two engines and not being able to use the nice steering wheel sitting in front of you is a very interesting thing to do. Heck when we split I told him it needed to be sold before the divorce was final, but 'giving' it to him was what put the asset settlement 'over the top for him'. I knew that he wouldn't be able to afford it's upkeep once my monthly payments to him are over.

It will help me for it to be sold. I won't have the annual insurance payments to make for one. Also once it's sold...instead of making payments on the loan I make them to him.. he's not going to want to wait out getting his $80K or so balance at the rate of $900 a month. He'll ask for an 'advancement' like he did with part of his cash settlement. At that time, I pull my card... a discount for cash in advance. If he wants it all at once.. he takes $50K not $80K...etc..

so in the end.. I make out a bit better.

Overall.. it's a small price to pay to live my life without having to doubt everything my partner/spouse says or does.

Yes, I suppose such a luxury item really is a small price to pay when measured against your happiness and enjoyment of life. I guess for me it's interesting yet also completely mind-blowing to hear about how some guys can literally have it all (as in a wonderful woman and family) and crap all over everything that matters.

It's also very amazing that guys like that seem to get such great women in the first place, whilst other more honest/loving/dependable guys remain single.

Someone on this thread asked earlier where my dog was when that chick was entering my house. I'll answer that now... he did go to the door, making his "chuffing" noises, then he ran back to my bedroom to alert me. I was of course already up and moving because her knocking was very loud.

But if anyone was with her and they came around at night say, Sully would make his noises and alert me right away. IF they began to "break in" I would know by the sounds that that's what they were doing, and I'd be ready for them as soon as they got in. I'd have already called 911, and in the dark I have an advantage.... I know the layout of my house, strangers don't. This is an old French home, the rooms are all close-quartered, so you'll all just have to trust when I say they would be hurting when the cops arrived, and quite happy to be taken away. They wouldn't even see it coming.
