Not going to that concert in Philly ranks as one of my biggest regrets. I was working on the Jersey coast (Wildwood) for the summer and had friends going into the city for it...and I decided not to skip work. :(

But Phil Collins has.

That's why he's Phil Collins, and we aren't... :(

I've always considered the era with Phil Collins as the frontman of Genesis, as Genesis Lite. Genesis, post-Peter Gabriel, was good as a pop band, but their music never reached the artistic level and passion that it had when Peter Gabriel was the driving force.

I still love to listen to Nursery Cryme (1971) and Foxtrot (1972), and consider The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (1974) as one of the most brilliant rock albums of all time.

Phil Collins was an amazing drummer on all of those albums - I still consider drumming to be his greatest talent.

If you like the latter-day Genesis, then I encourage you to try and search out the early Genesis albums and give them a listen. They'll blow you away...

I totally concur. Early Genesis is some of the best music I have experienced and is way superior to the post Peter Gabriel band. I also really liked the first few Peter Gabriel records.
