talk to "askpal" - he's a good guy who can point you in the right direction, if he doesn't know it himself. (he's a lawyer btw.)

Here are a couple of lawyers who specifically hold themselves out as representing the adult webmaster community:

http://www.xxxlaw.net

(chicago)

http://www.coollawyer.com

(ft.lauderdale, florida)

http://www.adultsitelaw.com

http://www.flowerslawfirm.com/index.htm

(washington, d.c.)

http://www.adultinternetlaw.com/

(represent al4a.com and ynotmasters.com)
(san diego)

http://www.rjg.com/

http://www.kyroslaw.com/

http://www.markskatz.com/

http://www.firstamendment.com/

(president of the florida bar free speech committee and works in a law firm with cross-country reach (california and florida)

http://e-lawconsultant.com/

http://www.1st-amendment.com/

There are many more who don't hold themselves out as representing the adult internet community. Ask around.

These sites can help you locate a local bar association near you:

Another good guy to write to for more local recommendations is
Paul Cambria. He writes for AVN.com, and has many years of experience.

Wow -- thanks for the responses. I'm not sure who to narrow it down to yet. AdultInternetLaw seems to have the most reccomendations though.

my lawyer kicks ass...he has quite a few "italian" clients, but is a massive former marine built like a freaking tank...I figure even if he loses his case, he can kick the other lawyer's ass in the parking lot afterwards....

Sure... How about Gauge

P.S. I'm impressed. I think I only mentioned the shirts once - back in Patchs 100th post thread, I think.

Yeah, everyone likes to bash on lawyers - until they NEED one. Believe me, if you ever face a federal obscenity rap, you're going to want the sharpest, nastiest, most authoritative lawyer you can get your hands on. Who cares if you like the lawyer? Their job is to win your case, not to be your friend.

A "good" lawyer is one that knows the law and can play the game. Give me a well-versed, talented sonuvabitch over a nice person with their heart in the right place, any old day.
