After nearly 10 years, it is time to give NatNet a facelift. We are going to be refreshing our branding within both the Adult and Mainstream hosting arenas. With that will come a new web site, new logo, and new feel.

This contest will tackle just the logo portion of our plan. It will be played out on the two top webmaster boards on the internet in hopes of reaching the most talented designers in the industry. There will be no "back room" deals and no politics.

For fear of pissing someone off, there are more detailed contest rules below, but the summary is simple: Designers wishing to submit entries will post their entry in this thread which will stay active for one week. At the end, if we see a design we choose to use we will pay that designer $5,000US. If we decide not to use any of the entries, as a show a good faith we will randomly choose 5 entries, from 5 different designers, and open a poll in which members of the community can vote for their favorite. The winner of the poll will receive a consolation prize of $1,000US even though we will not use their submission.

If you have any questions feel free to post them in this thread and someone from NatNet will reply within this thread so that everyone is on a level playing field. No information about this contest will be discussed outside of this thread.

The following are a few things you should keep in mind when designing this logo:

NationalNet is a technology company that operates in both the Mainstream and Adult arenas. We are one of the largest, most powerful, and most trusted names in the business. Our name has become synonymous with exceptional customer service and loyalty. As such, our logo should reflect all of the above and should be clean enough to be viable in all mediums.

As is obvious by the prize money being offered, we take our logo very seriously and will only consider serious entries. I am banking on the good folks on this board to rise to the occasion.

Logo Contest Rules

1. The Contest begins now and closes midnight EST on Monday the 17th of July.
2. The $5000 contest prize will be paid to the ?winning? logo only if NationalNet chooses to use the entry as its company logo.
3. The logo must translate clearly across all forms of media types.
4. The logo image must reflect what the market would expect of a leading technology company and one that is established, & financially sound.
5. All entries must be submitted in this thread.
6. If a ?winning? logo from the submitted entries is not selected by NationalNet, we will pay $1000 as a consolation prize to the top logo as voted for by members of the two webmaster boards utilized for this contest, combined.
7. If NationalNet chooses a ?winning? logo, the announcement will be made in this thread no later than Friday, the 21st of July.
8. In the case, where NatNet does not select a ?winning? logo from the submitted entries, a poll will be developed on Wednesday, the 19th of July for the Board community to select their choice for the best logo entry. The poll contestants will be represented by 5 logo entries based on the credible feedback in this thread from Board members during the contest.

Winner Obligations

1. If NationalNet chooses a ?winning" logo, the winner must sign over all rights to the logo.
2. The winner will be required to provide all source files for the logo.
3. The winner must provide NationalNet 8 hours of resource time. This time would be designated for creating different variations of the logo, Banners, Signature Buttons, etc. NationalNet would compensate the winner their normal design rate for all work required over the allotted 8 hours.

Thanks for the kudos everybody! I hoped that $5k was going to be enough to get the really good designers hearts racing a bit. I see we already have one entry that I think is cool....its something completely different and that is exactly what I am hoping that we get from this exercise.
