To recieve disability, you must prove you are unable to work. managing employees or even sitting in a wheelchair posting on a forum with a $400 sig is enough to lose your benefits. |

Where in PA are you from?
|
hmm, kind of strange ! ! why dont you ask XLABOR that you can do some of the jobs ?
or better yet if you are a SKILLED webmaster , why dont you earn some dollars the normal webmaster way , getting commision on sales ? |
Good luck with this, I never found someone that had a worse work computer than me - until now. That's painful.

Don't talk to me about shit that took you out. We all go through shit that "takes us out". I have been through it all. I had a bout with anxiety, a common-law divorce, a child to support as well, OCD, tourettes, social phobia and other medical conditions. I honed my skills and pushed through. I am in pretty big debt and make a somewhat decent wage. I, like everyone out there, need more money. Here's the difference though. Instead of coming along begging for pity work I actually take my extra time and work on my own shit that will pay off later on. For the short term boost in income to help alleviate my bills and get back on track I plan to work extra to achieve it. I am getting myself into a new local electronics shop to work on commission to sell electronics while still working full time for my web employer. I'm not here begging for people to buy me a computer. I saved the money and earned it as well as worked hard like a motherfucker to gain a bonus and bought it. I ended up buying a pretty wicked system. There's nothing wrong with getting a local non web job. If you have any skills you can get a decent paying job locally temporarily to get yourself back on track or at least lessen the financial burden a bit. I think you just think you are too good to do anything else and won't swallow your fucking pride. You have responsibilities and deserve to get your life back on track. Do something about it. Do what it takes. is it going to kill you to earn $10 an hour working part time on the side? No, it will help you get back to your goal. It's like a 19 year old saying they refuse to work at walmart because they have bigger dreams. well.. where's the first step. Why not ask your employers for advice? It never hurts, maybe they can steer you towards a sister company or someone respected by your company that needs some stuff done. Otherwise, nobody's going to buy you a computer for you to do work that your heart won't even be into. Step up, be a man, get out and get a supplemental job locally or find something you can do for yourself and get yourself back on track. Anywho.. if all you want is at least a computer to get going why not ask for overtime for a bonus, take that extra money and buy a decent system. Or suck it up princess and get a local job for a month to buy a decent one. You're only as good as your tools. That's a very important fact to take into consideration. I'm not trying to harp on you or belittle you. I understand where you're coming from but you gotta do what you gotta do. Even if it is extra by minimum wage. |

This pretty much sums it up. :thumbsup |
Obviously the last few posters are not "getting it". I have plenty of work, and I make plenty of money. The extra money that I make usually goes to back bills/debts. I have plenty of sites to work on and I work for xLabor on top of that. I even have a few larger projects I am trying to put some cash into. Harderst of all, I also maintain a clean and healthy household (as best I can at the moment).
To lazycash asking about xLabor... xLabor is beneficial to me for the fact that it leaves me with time to do my own tasks that are normally put aside when I work grunt jobs on my own, so I make a commision (recurring) and do less work. I did consider this, several times over. But I figured it is for the best. I am meeting great people and working with a reputable company as well. So, it is not about finances... it is about getting me a better machine that will pay for itself times over. The trick here, is that I am trying to force myself into more or less buying one, but with no choice. If I were to work for cash, I would not spend the cash on a computer, it would go towards back debt. By being paid with a computer instead of cash, I get my computer. Besides, it is a fun way to meet with new [clients/people in general] and get something nice, new experiences or whatever. I am not asking for a handout. I am not "begging" for work. I am not even asking for money. I am asking for a chance to earn a new computer, cause I will not or cannot buy one on my own. More or less, anyway, hehe. Gosh, some of you folks are rough. |

Well why didnt you just explain that to begin with? Really your thread initially sounded like you were wanting a computer for grunt work so you don't have to get another job and it sounded like you were trying to justify not taking extra work outside the web to get bills paid off. I see your point about how you'd rather work for a computer instead of etting paid cash then loosing it to bills. Thing is, suck it up, buy a computer. You're only as good as your tools. Get good tools. A bottom feeder dell is not going to cut it for long. Waiting for someone to buy you one will take longer. Just a side note though, you should take my previous advice seriously in my other post. If you want to get caught up faster, start thinking outside the box. Good luck in your endeavors. |

And the Dell is only temporary anyway. I have this full size ATX case I plan on building when I can. This way I can make a computer that fits my needs. Until then... Dell will do. |
oh, what about just getting an Asus board with onboard video/sound/lan, a cpu and a conforming case? Shouldnt cost you more than 250 bux. Look into Ahtlon XP chips.
That system would do you well beyond what a dell could. Just make sure it has expandability with PCIe. Dont bother with agp. PCIe is the way to go nowadays. That way you can drop in a kickass graphics card when the money allows. Need more storage? Spend $60 on a 160 gigger. $310 total now. Spend the money, use a CC if you have to. Don't wait on someone to buy it in exchange for work. They're the worst kind of clients... trust me on this.. :/ :EDIT: See you already have case, knock $50 off that |
From all three of your posts I am willing to bet that you only read my initial post and none of the conversations. That is ok though.
I am doing this for a few reasons, read the scripture and you will see what has been said already about the points you present to me. And yes, I know some clients may become a pain in the ass, but that doesn't make a difference if I got them on a cash deal or this one. In fact, it could be beneficial to some in the fact that the computer is only 13/month with a CC. I have shitty credit or I would be typing from a nice new machine right now. oh yeah... I am in debt up to 10k, so no matter what I do, it will take awhile. So online work will suffice, no matter how bad it gets. I have been doing this for 3 almost 4 years, it is not that easy to just jump back into the public workplace. Especially when your application has no referendes for that long. Folks think that "self employed' means "I don't work". |
Dell USA always gave me great support... not that I had any major problems. Our Dell from 2000 is still going strong, although the monitor died and I'm starting to have trouble with the power switch.

And there IS more to it, but I will not share that private part of my life. It has a lot to do with the situation though. |
Heh... funny thing.
I actually have a pretty decent Gateway for sale in a few places on the net for about $900. I sell about 3 - 5 of those and I can buy me a computer. |
Anyone from night crew want to take a few stabs at me? C'mon, I can take it... Just finished watching "Walker Texas Ranger".
