I'm a DNS Moron - Help Please

I seriously know nothing about this shit. I just know I change my nameservers and usually my domain is live on the new host in an hour or two. GoDaddy always seemed to have things propogated in no time.

However, now it is taking well over a day for this. I'm kind of confused why. Is this an issue with GoDaddy, the host, or my ISP? I can hop on a proxy and see my site on the new host at any time.

As I said, I'm a moron about this stuff, so any help is appreciated.

what's the domain?

www.dnsstuff.com

also remember even though godaddy changes it in hours, it still takes days to go through DNS cache

Using that tool it is showing it as coming up at the new host (which is good). So this is a problem with my ISP and their DNS cache?

maybe, if it is routing to your host, and but it is showing the wrong IP, then either it's not configured on the right IP or your host is sending it to the wrong place

don't know what host you are using, but if you are using their name servers and you have a dedicated box, then you need to tell your host so they can add the domain to their name servers

Well it's a well known host on a shared server so I doubt their stuff is messed up. It eventually goes through, it's just it takes much longer than it used to. I just didn't know if this was my ISP that is slow as fuck to get these changes.

Ask some other people if the domain is comming up fine for them.. if it is for them and not for you goto a dos prompt and type ipconfig/flushdns if you are using XP.

Be aware that many home routers (and some combo dsl/cable modems) cache dns entries on them for your "convenience". If in doubt during your own testing, ensure all your routers/cable modems between your computer and the internet have been power cycled for a minute or two before attempting to do a dns lookup using your local computer.

you're still fine. it takes longer or shorter. propagation takes place over a 24- prob 48 hour period though.
