youtube .vs kazaa

can someone explain me the difference ? ?

they both offer / offered free copyrighted material

only difference I can find is that kazaa you had to WAIT to watch because of the slow downloads with youtube now you can watch whatever it is you want to watch almost instantly

Kazzaa is a filesharing (p2p) programm. You can download files from other users with it.

YouTube offers streaming videos, which got uploaded to their server.
So the content of YouTube is physically based on the YouTube server while the content of kazaa is based on its users hard disc´s.

Its like comparing a ferrari with some toilet paper. So can somebody tell me the difference please?

In youtube they are stores on youtubes server

ok, let me translate the original post from English to English - Kazaa and YouTube both offer copyrighted movies (music videos etc), why's everybody (read officials, music industry, movie industry etc) bitching about Kazaa but most of them consider YouTube to be a very cool site????

Course kazaa is A FILESHARING PROGRAM which contains 99% pirated material - and thats what it was build for.

YouTube isnt build for pirated stuff! Its like myspace in a different kind of view. Its the same if you post a copyrighted picture on myspace and if you post a copyrighted clip on youtube. Both cant do shit about it course they cant recruit a little country for checking every upload by hand. I think you still dont know what those sites were build for or whats the main idea of them.

i've seen them just hide extensions for example: movie.wmv.exe. But of course you dont see the .exe and also of surfers dont know how to make the file extensions visible.

You're right - they didn't. Their 3rd party advertising network did. Happened on a LOT of sites - MySpace is just the biggest, so it makes "better news".

They are. Constantly. YouTube honors the requests, so you never hear about it, with the exception of when some idiot press releases their C&D or DMCA actions.
