In another life I was a pack and a half a day smoker, for over a decade. Than nicorette came out, and I haven't looked back. The most amazing part: it was easy as hell. Only the first day was hard. That gum is a miracle. I recommend it to anyone who wants to quite smoking. Now they even have a kind that tastes good. Use it occasionally for a week while you start to cut back, and then throw out all your cigs/lighters/ashtrays, and chew as much of the gum as you need. It works.

I remember I used to caugh all the time, sometimes badly. Sometimes, actually, towards the end most days, I would caugh up black shit. Within a week my endurance had doubled and I stopped caughing.

Not trying to preach, if you like smoking cool, to each his own I say. Just trying to let smokers know that with the gum, it's not as hard to quit as you think it will be. Within a month people could smoke right in front of me while I was drinking beer and I had zero desire to have a puff.

yeah but I had a heart attack last Augest - they put two stints in my arteries - I have one left blocked 70% - I think my point is yeah I have tried to put them down but so far no luck - but I am down to way less then a half a pack - if you smoke try and quit!

Congrats on cutting down bro.

What quitting methods have you used, if any? I reccomend the gum. If that doesn't work, my cousin was a heavy smoker and he said that drug zyban (sp?) worked for him. Although he said he had really fucked up dreams that kind of freaked him out while using it.

Funny thing, when I was quitting, I had a couple dreams where I'd start smoking again, but they were commical and obsurd. Like, I'd open my freezer and notice that I had left 5 cartons in there, and say, oh, well, I guess I have to finish these.

everyone one my family smokes/smoked, from me to my great grandparents and not a single case of cancer/heart disease. The ones that have died, died old as shit and in their sleep. so I'm not too worried about cancer/heart disease.
