Re "protecting our country" - that's like claiming Iceland needs to dump $3 billion worth of arms the the Lebanese because they need to "protect their country". Neither the US or Iceland are anywhere near the Middle East. Where exactly is the difference?

The sole reason for being there is influence - talk of peace processes are a sham - especially when the "honest broker" has other agendas.
