I have surgery tomorrow and will be out for the week.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I will be out of the office for the week due to my foot surgery. I should be able to be up and at my computer to answer e-mails and ICQs on Thursday and Friday.

I just wanted everyone to know so I don't get any hate e-mails from people saying I am ignoring them, or hate threads saying I am ignoring them.

Anyway I am out of here. I am going to see my doctor right now for prep work for my surgery. I have to be to the hospital at 7am and my surgery is in Reno at Washoe so I have to drive over the mountains right now about a 2 hour drive.

I have to say I am scared, upset and nervous. This is the last hope for anything. If this doesn?t work I am stuck with what I have and my life will be limited to what I can do. This is also the largest surgery I have had on my foot. They are putting fake bone in there and I am going to be in a lot of pain. I will be in the hospital until Thursday.

I will let you know when I am back so everyone who needs to get in touch with me can.

You can't help being upset or scared, I have run through some medical problems lately and I know how it feels. Don't worry about that, it's only normal. It really helps thinking about something pleasant and funny, that's what I did before each procedure

Good luck...the last thing I remember about my foot surgery (Plantar Facsitis) went something like this...99, 98, 97...

My doctor brought me a videotape in post-op, taken using the fiber camera that they use for conducting micro-surgery.

I especially liked the part where after drilling a hole completely through my ankle, he peeked in from the opposite side of the camera and waved - he knew that I have a twisted sense of humor and I would get a laugh out of that (he's not just my surgeon, we're tennis buddies too).

Let us know when you're back on your feet...

Eek, Loryn, that sucks. When I broke my foot a few years ago there was some talk about potentially having to graft or replace the bone if the plate/pins surgery didn't take. I was lucky and it did, you get all my best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery!
