Whats the Best External Drive brand and model?

I have 8 years worth of graphic design and web design archives, I need a new solution for storage other than my internal drives.

I'm thinking of getting either a hot swap drive or an external.. are there other solutions? What can you guy/girls reccomend?

You'll get a few dozen different responses. It's all about personal favorite and preference... one of the better ones I've seen (and the fastest one on the market to boot) would be the LaCie Two Big, though it's uses other than for personal use (as in don't expect to be bringing it to a lot of people's houses as they may not have the right hookup for it).

These are cool but the bigger one is not in my price range as I am the typical starving artist/musican lol.
        Thanks for the links

It's cheaper to buy an enclosure and an internal drive. I have a few enclosures myself. And if you had to choose, always go with seagate. You can't beat their 5 year warranty.

I have 2 maxtors and many seagates. I have never had a problem with either brand.

I'm really digging this solution. but also going to look into the reccomendations to get an enclosure and put an internal in it...
