The Theory Of Buying Traffic
Heres what I think:
Usually people buy traffic for sites because they cant seem to get the traffic to build up. Buying traffic for a site that doesnt convert is a waste of money since after the purchased traffic is gone the traffic will eventually slowly die off. If it didnt convert before it wont convert now. If you have a site that converts really well then you dont need to buy traffic because its capable of increasing in size all on its own. The key is to develop a site that converts. Just thought I would mention it. |

The best converting sites are the ones that aren't surfer friendly. You get every possible click and view out of them and eventually discard the people that won't sign up for anything at all.

The real theory of buying traffic is even simpler than that...
you have got to make more $ than what you paid for it, either short term or as part of a long term goal... forget this simple rule and you're fucked... |

You've lost the plot there somewhere. Sure, eventually a good tgp/links site etc will gain in traffic from bookmarkers but that's not a site that converts as such - it simply sends traffic to sites that convert. Tell you what - put a pay site/AVS site up with a shit hot front end that converts like crazy and then do nothing with it. Then sit back and watch how high the traffic goes. It's not even gonna pay for a cheap holiday. |

Ok sorry, I'm not talking about paysites. I'm talking about tgp's, free sites and cj's. Ofcourse a paysite needs traffic to be fed to it from somewhere

So yes, a tgp, links, free, cj site conversion rate is a major issue.

That makes far more sense
![]() Mind you even then it can depend a little on the trading. Set up properly, 7 days of paid for traffic can take the trades to a higher level if you run that type of site but of course the traffic is unlikely to be as good. In the early days of Ifreinds you could make far more from bought traffic sent to a TGP optimized for iFreinds than it would cost if the traffic was half decent - and of course the traffic that didn't convert would help trades. Shame those days are over. |
