You know what.

US would be in big trouble if it didnt have two rather large bodies of water on either coast.
|
About 1/3 of US army brigades are actively deployed. The US has 12 carrier battle groups. Navy and air force would defend homefront and US could fight in two regions at same time by deploying 2/3 of army.

Not at all.
If somebody attacked the US because they were "spread to thin", they would just nuke all the other countries with issues, and come back to protect the homeland. The US gov is just playing nice to appease the UN. Dont think for one minute they wouldn't drop a Hiroshima if they had enough of an excuse. |

But now might the factor actually be working the other way just as much? Without Ocean it would be a lot easier for the US to send troops places when it wants. It takes great naval and airforce resources to move entire divisions halfway across the world. Only a few nations are even capable of doing it. Would be a lot easier for the US to just drive mechanized divisions across Pangaea than to fly and ship them. |
A lot of ppl here saw too many action movies ;)

nignogs will riot and take over the country :winkwink:

We would be absolutely, and completely, fucked. We would have to pick up arms ourselve and hope we can hold them off. Hell I am ready like a mofo. And I know a couple guys on this board who are. heh

The toughest enemy to fight is one that does not depend on a central leadership but rather is capable of working independantly toward a common goal. Militaries tend to fall flat apart when their leadership crumbles or tells them to stop fighting; civilians defending their homelands do not have such weaknesses. Just look at Iraq, the percent of the population that is actually fighting the invading forces is very small and yet they are giving the most powerful military in the world a very hard time. Imagine the damage they could do if the people there were actually united against us. |
