Without question. Its unbelievably obvious, but this is gfy so people love bandwagons here. Some of the wankers on this board must have a shit load of splinters in their asses from jumping from bandwagon to bandwagon.

Ya but Will wanted to make money off of a network that contained millions of files of stolen content, and probably tons of CP.

Well to be fair he'd probably be making money off licensed content. You make money from the Internet and there's a whole shitload of CP and illegal stuff on the Internet. Same reasoning with p2p networks like limewire and such

People use p2p to search for stolen content. Any traffic garnered from such a source would be helping to support the network. He is a hypocrite.

So you having to turn this personal now? :1orglaugh Typical. Would you like to comment why Will76 was wanting to profit off an illegal network used to trade stolen content and CP?

I think that's a bit of generalization, most people that I know use p2p networks to search for porn. It just so happens that there's a whole bunch of full paysite videos and such, average surfer probably doesnt even know that what he's getting is illegally obtained. Will would actually be making lives of content companies and sites easier by providing his licensed stuff and diluting the illegal things.

So more people who download Will's stuff = less people who download illegal stuff... makes sense to me anyway.

(that doesn't change the fact that p2p traffic sucks and is full of freeloaders who dont buy stuff)

You may have missed his campaign against Torrents this month hehe.

Haha I don't think anyone could miss his anti-aff campaign. Torrent sites are different cause you have webmasters profiting directly from theft. I disagree with sponsors paying webmasters who steal from other sponsors. That's backstabbing and everyone gets hurt in the end.

BUT I do agree with distributing legal ad-supported content on torrents (and on any other network). If a sponsor wants to distribute movies with embedded advertisements on torrent sites, more power and exposure to them.

Oh I have no problem with doing that. But keep in mind it is still traffic garnered from the trading of stolen content and other illegal things. People are searching for CP terms on p2p networks and they find some content uploaded by an affiliate or a program and they sign up. Its still the same thing.

After all Will was saying AFF was getting signups from people that were searching for CP. Ok AFF is ADULT!! friend finder. Not a nambla dating site. Has the same end effect. And makes Will out to be a hypocrite.

People searching for CP content can hit any TGP using google, none of us are safe against that. That type of shit is also on the web, not only on p2p.

But yeah, will doesn't give off an impression of being the sharpest tool in a box, I'll give you that.

campaign? I played around with the idea and never went anywhere with it other then a little testing on a program that never worked. I never purchased any p2p traffic.

I purchased 5K of content that I was planning on using for advertising(can be verified through Joe at AMA Content). Cut up all the vids into 30 second samples, watermarked them, and was going to put them in the p2p networks.

I never got anywhere with it other then a little testing, dropped it and moved on to something else shortly after this thread.

I have never made money from p2p and infact probably spent about 15 - 20K between programming and content looking into.

(This will be my only reply to StupidFingerz or the AFF supporters, but if anyone else has any questions they can feel free to ask.)

edgeprod 06-18-2007 07:12 PM

I have p2ppros.com if anyone needs a domain. :)

The rate was dirt cheap, I thought it was pretty fair. :winkwink:

As for Will, the comment was cause I disagree with many of your points, especially the Zango crusade and AFF bashing, just makes zero sense to me as to why you'd single out those two out of many more sponsors that are much worse.

Anyways this thread is about p2p and that advertising on p2p networks does not harm anyone and that p2p traffic sucks. Now let's let this thread go back where it used to be, far away from page 1. :thumbsup

its because you are miss informed. I didnt single out AFF and the reason why they get more posts made about them here then other companies has been addressed several times. Just because you missed it doesn't make me not too sharp.

Small world, i had no idea i hired you to do work before in the past for me until it was brough to my attention.

CaptainHowdy 06-18-2007 11:49 PM

I saw something about P2P at ChokerTrafffic... Check it out.

As I said before, I disagree with you both on AFF and Zango and I've read most of your threads.

glad to have been of help with the videos last year, didn't know you and TampaToker were partners in the p2p thing.

Curious, what exactly do you disagree with ? I respect your right to disagree but not sure what you disagree to.

I shouldn't say anything it makes it worse better to keep it quiet ?
I shouldn't say anything it makes zango more money?
You think zango did nothing wrong and I shouldn't be bitching at them?
You really believe AFF was forced to do it, and I shouldn't have posted about them?
You think i singled AFF out when it was Lars that singled himself out ?
You think I have an agenda?

Just curious, saying you disagree with me on zango and AFF could mean so many different things.

tried setting up couple of servers too, I'm sure with time I could've seen better results (still getting few bucks daily after taking the sevrers down), might do it again towards the end of the year

And you think you could get a nice traffic/income from just a few computers with internet access??

Get real.

I know you want soooo bad to say I was owned. After owning you like 100x on this board and exposing you as the asshole and greedy bastard you are I know your greatest joy in life would be to own me, even if it is just one time.

Sorry you thought you were close to owning me here, but it didn't happen. Maybe you will get lucky and I will get greedy one day, do something stupid and you can own me then. It is soo funny seeing you are your flock come out of the wood work and high 5'ing each other just because some idiot thinks he owned me.

You guys are like the jealous fans watching the other team beat your team time and time again, you sit there saying nothing just taking the beaten, then finally 1 time you team takes the lead and you jump up down screaming YES YES! we going win for once!!!! But to no avail, you still lose. :1orglaugh

There is always next time Lars. Maybe I will get owned one day. But I have to do something shaddy/greedy first for that to happen so don't hold your breath.

Who are you going to make a donation to this week to try to improve your image? The Catholic Church? Mothers Against Drunk Driving? The 4H Club? The SPCA ?

Steps to improve your image by Lars:
1. hold more contest threads.
2. give away more money to affiliates
3. give donations to all of the "good" organizations so we can look good.

Can't wait to see what step 4 is in trying to repair your image.
