very old school trick was setting up those fake members area, or seeding out some passwords and then slapping them into a fake members area...way sized down, etc...good # of links off to 'full join' etc...
very nice setup for a site owner

You could upsell on a million people a day, and pay for bandwidth plus.
At least I would hope so, you would have to try hard to fail on that one. Not to mention it would help branding to have a million people a day see your site. |

A lot of webmasters are doing money out of those sites...
I was curious to check out one of those sites and I found out they have so called "members VIP areas" where they sell passes to go in, and get special non-overused passes that are supposed to last longer. I am sure most of the owners of those forums post daily on GFY, no doubt about that. Handling one of those forums and posting on GFY is not only being a cheater and vilating basic rules, but also being un-ethical. Those guys deserve to be punished and being caught by FBI.  |
