Fucking KLEZ virus...any ideas?

More than half my incoming e-mail now is infected with the KLEZ virus. All Norton seems to be able to do is trap it and quarantine the bad part of it, but Norton is constantly notifying me, which forces me to click on a button authorizing it to quarantine the virus (like what am I going to do? say NO?!) for each infected e-mail.

WTF else can I do other than getting a new email address?

I'm sure some of you are having the same problem. Any ideas?

Norton is a pain in the ass. I go through the same thing you do for 50% of my email. Click Quarentine.. etc.

You can configure norton to delete the viri automatically - so it won't bother you during your work.

So it says, but I click that box and I still find myself having to approve the quarantines. All I want is for Norton to do it without my approval. Have YOU figured out how to make it do that, because simply telling Norton to do that doesn't seem to work.

Change your settings to repair the quietly quarantine if unsuccessful.

procmail can block it with a regular expression, and if procmail isn't appropriate (like in an environment where you are forwarding messages via sendmail's virtusertable) then sendmail can be hacked to do it via perl. as an admin, i'd prefer not to filter anyone's e-mail, but after SirCam we pretty much had to. the SirCam filter blocked 100's of gigs of SirCam infected e-mail - that's 100's of gigs people didn't have to download via POP. long story short, find out if your host can help out, or at least if you can use procmail and DIY.

use pine or a text-based email client. then delete them when you get it! that way you won't accidentally click on the shit either.

look for a commonality in the email, for example a text phrase, and attachment, email address, sender and configure your outlook express to automatically delete and mark as read

I get lots of them too btw, more than 50% are automatically deleted
