Most movies that are assumed to be blockbusters have a midnight opening. X-men, Superman, etc. I do the midnight Thursday movies all the time. It doesn't give Pirates 2 any special advantage.

If it just makes $5 million Mon-Thur conservatively that'll bring it to over $150 million. If it does half next weekend what it did this weekend it'll be over $200 million. It looks like it'll be the year's biggest blockbuster unless there's another Harry Potter movie coming out.
