Does ebay / paypal own craigslist.org?

They have a link to them on paypal.com beside

* eBay
* Half.com
* Craigslist
* ProStores
* Rent.com
* Shopping.com
* Skype

That's kinda weird since craiglist seemed to be a competitor of eBay

I don't see what's the big craze about that site ...

But I doubt ebay would own sites where escort services are offered .

I believe ebay bought their stake from craig's partner without craig's knowledge. so, craig wakes up the next day with ebay as a partner, and no liquidity event for himself (cash out), could be my memory failing me, but google for the story. really twisted.

That reminds me.... PayPal owns X.com. Awesome porn domain, owned by a company that doesn't support it.

eBay owns 20 or 25% of craigslist. They got it when one of the staff sold his shares to eBay without telling Craig first.
