Booking photographers and models for exclusive content...

I've talked to a few photographers who is willing to shoot exclusive content but I have no idea what the standard rates are for models as well as photographers. I'm also unsure of how much content I should be getting for a full day of shooting. I've been purchasing content for a year now and want to start getting exclusive stuff shot for the site.

One photographer quoted me $1000 a day (8 hours) and promises 15 sets of photos.. is that a good price? I'm looking for glamour/softcore stuff...

The models I've called around are quoting $800 a day of playboy style nudes...and I'm not even going through an agency..so it's not including agency fees..

Is this too much?

Any input would be greatly appreciated

1k for 15 sets is a great price. Whoever shooting exclusive for that is either a shitty photographer or a complete dumbass. Probably both.

$800 a day for Playboy style nudes? I swear...People smoke a lot of crack.

if you ever want an actual playboy photographer shooting your stuff, let me know, one of my best friends here in Atlanta shoots all the "girls of..." playboy spreads...but he is far more expensive than what you are quoting above

Yeah the photographer that I'm thinking of going with quoted me $1000-$1400 for 12-15 sets. I guess depending on how complicated each set gets. Her website is JenHan dot com. I think her stuff is pretty nice.

If you are getting that kind of work with those kind of models for that price then you should stop postig about it and hire the photofrapher.

Take the $1400 add in the $800 and you are still getting a kick ass deal for 15 sets like that.

Yeah, she seemed a bit off. She kept saying she was not content then she would flash her tits. She tried to get me to hire her as a hair/makeup artist and then even propositioned me later that night.

Actually the models aren't the ones on the photographer's website. I think the ones on her site is much more expensive.

I'm really just trying to figure out what the standard rates are and since it seems like this photographer's rates are pretty good I'll go with her. Thanks for the input.

like aaron said, if that photog gives you that quality featured on her site for the price she said, you need to stop posting and call her right now and hire her full time and create about 20 new paysites.

Why don't you just have her quote you a rate which includes the models pay as well?

When I bill a client, I pay the model out of what I collect. Why should my clients find the models? The only exception to this is when I shoot contract solo girls that the client found.

As are most clients. I test shoot models then send the pics to various clients for approval. In this case, the kind of models you are looking for most likely have portfolios so there is no need for a test shoot.

Jen Han is a good photographer - she shoots for ImportIcons.com, among others. For the price she is quoting it sounds like a good deal.

FYI, many mainstream photogs charge $750 for a half day minimum, and $1,500 for an 8 hour day.

Just had a look at Jen Han's portfolio - that ain't no shit! Both photography and general standard of the models is good. For $2K US for 15 sets with some variety in a day - good price!

Hell.. I've paid more than double that for that model standard and a day's shoot for catalogs. That's a photographer worth hanging on to

you can't shoot anything but amateur style photosets if you're shooting 15 in a day and that's pushing it. glamour - at most 5 or 6 sets - most glamour photographers shoot 2 or 3 sets in a working day.

her prices are low - if you hire her report back on how it went, total cost and what you got for the money.

I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

yeah that price is kinda low...I looked at the site, the shots are definately decent. However there is no PS'ing included in that price. However I kinda think that 15 sets is gonna be kinda hard to do in an 8 hour day and you will probably not get what you are expecting.
Now as far as model price? You get what you pay for!
usually playboy style nudes are around$75 to a hundred an hour. Kinda depends where you live too.
Also don't think that every girl knows how to model either...lol I would say one out of every 10 make your life easy.

there is no set price... all varies on how well the photographer is, setting you want, how hot of a model, etc...

800/day for pb style shoot is cheap, if real, i would jump on it if i were you

hourly rate for a photographer can range 50-300+ / hour
model rates as well

all depends what you need

15 sets in 8 hours is cutting it close, and getting too many similar shots and same makeup... you're hurrying the shoot, and i don't think you will be happy with it

what area are you in? and yes the playboy models that don't show pink do cost more actaully , . . and paying a shooter 1K for 10-15 sets is about right if he will color correct them also . .

and BTW that would be a 12 hr day . . not 8 and the models are used to working those hrs but you might have you might have to pay more than $800 to get that much content especially if ya want some teaser vid . .
