video question
ok people to day I got my Super VHS camcorder out of the shop. I already have a digital camcorder that I use for mpegs and the such. What would I need to be able to convert and upload my svhs copies to the net?

Well without even bringing in your digi cam into this
heres what you'll need. You'll need a Video Card that can take a Video IN signal and send it to your harddrive (matrox E-TV G450 etc) and convert it to mpeg (programs like ULEADs media studio PRO etc) Run the wires...install the hardware/programs and youre good to go.

I'm an idiot on this stuff, but can't he just use firewire to send it directly to the computer in digital format, rather than using a capture card? Is that a bad idea?
On edit - If his SVHS camera doesn't have digital out, then can't he just run it through his existing digital camera's analog in port and then off to the firewire? |
