Yes I do it 3 times per year. It's a good thing to do, plus my blood pressure/HB etc gets checked everytime too - that's part of the reason why i go.

Wow I have thought about doing that, but it didn't really sound appealing. How is it to do that? And 1 needle or two - the restblood gets pumped back right?

I can't give blood, they want you not to be tattoo'd for a year before you give, I get tattoo'd to often to do so...I make sure that i am generous with donations to charities though...

I can't donate blood because I'm gay (we're an excluded class), but the Red Cross is one of the charities we donate to each year.
