I've learned to follow a very strict rule pattern to avoid relapses of such events.
1. If it smokes, contains smoke, ashes, or in anyway aids in the development of cancer or incessant laughing... it stays on the right side. 2. If its liquid, edible, or in anyway involved in getting me fatter or drunker... it stays strictly on the left.
