Katrina Looters Get 15-Year Sentences

Three people convicted of hauling away liquor, wine and beer from a grocery store after Hurricane Katrina were sentenced Wednesday to 15 Years in prison.

They were convicted of attempting to leave the grocery with 27 bottles of liquor and wine, six cases of beer and one case of wine coolers, six days after Katrina made landfall.

it was posted, but i think this is a wrong rule in free America - jail for being topless. as well as in other countries.

Sometimes you have to cross those lines, you have to go against what the "system" says is right and you have to challenge those rules, laws, and regulations. Was this Melissa's intent? Who knows, but the outcome if this is fought in court could go a long way in changing draconian laws regarding a little nudity.

just to give a little heads up, we expected this. a local judge isnt going to against local police and local prosecutors, they work together everyday. there will be an appeal, this is far from over. what we did find interesting was that we expected a guilty verdict back within 1-2 days, but it ended up taking 3 weeks. things that make you go hmmm..

lets remember that this nation was predicated on freedom and rights. lets keep this in perspective, and not play out what-if scenarios without full knowledge of the law or the full details as to what happened that night. have a good july 4th everyone.
