Canada-based webhosting for $3.95/mnth (adult-friendly, too)

We've been using these guys for the past couple of years ourselves for hosting two of our fetish/bdsm adult sites - based in Toronto.

They offer top-notch service and support, awesome pricing (we use their bronze pkg. for $3.95/mnth - includes 80gb storage and 800gb/mnth transfer bandwidth). Their uptime is 99.99% - in fact I can't even recall any downtime with them in the past two years.

They're very adult-friendly (if its legal in Canada, they'll host it - including all hardcore, fetish & bdsm content).

That's 10% of their entire systems resources. A typical adult site wouldn't approach that unless (as they say) you're running multiple domains on a single IP or have insanely massive zip downloads.

We host both onsite pic and vid galleries (and TGP galleries) and have NEVER been charged extra for additional bandwidth in the 3 years we've been hosted by Canaca.

Its just an exercise in using your imagination.

Chalk it up to a minor glitch in their affiliate link - they should have it straightened out shortly.

Domains have nothing to do with " system ressources " . I have boxes for mainstream whith over 250 domain names on the same IP .

Ressources are used mainly by database queries, script execution AND download of heavy files ( read video files ) ...

But I am probably wrong. So I will switch all my paysites ( one per IP ... ) to them... After all, I get:

- a full hardrive ( 80 gigs )
- a full 800 gigs of BW ( near the normal specs for a dedicated box )
- an unbelievable 99.999999% uptime

all that for 3.95 Can a month ...

All serious real adult host are doomed ...

Quite obviously your biased criticism of their hosting service is both self-serving and based on no experience as a Canaca client.

We've been there...done that...and continue to enjoy their excellent hosting service.

Does no one understand the problems with overselling like this?

Canaca pays their bandwith providers somewhere between $0.25 and $0.50 per gig, and then they give you 800 gigs for $3.95. Obviously something doesn't add up.

I just started a new host just now, $2.50 per month for a dedicated Xeon. Two years prepaid via Egold.

How can we be so cheap? Alright, our servers are in Nigeria and were ordered from eBay.

Thats what I was going to say.

I used to be with them, but DAMN do they get slow as hell during peek hours, and their "dedicated" servers max load is like 20% cpu usage....


I wouldnt host anything that you need for income on them. For small personal sites or a business that just needs an email and a simple page they are fine, but I wouldnt put anything mre then that on there.
