The hype around Rooney is partly based on the fact that he apeals to the english masses, he is one of those typical sterotype boys. And besides that he is a great talent but he has to learn how to controll his anger.

His is fast, strong and a tactical intelligent player (he can play "between the lines" and knows wich position to take in certain situations) but besides controlling his anger he has to make more goals

Yup. I won't comment on the Rooney thing as I think both sides have valid points. In general though the carding was at stupidly high levels and the refs poor. That said maybe you can't blame the refs too much but rather the stupidly tough and picky rules FIFA have now introduced?

Either way it's ruining the game as are the dives (especially by the more Latin countries with Italy probably being amongst the worst and Brazil not too far behind).

But then the problem with policing the dives is that genuine fouls can (and have during this world cup on many occassions) be taken as dives by bad refs :/ Send off people diving and you'll end up sending a lot who are genuinely fouled too :/ Best way to do it IMHO is to fine players after matches using video evidence if they dive too much. That'll stop the bastards.
