It's not as easy when you are colocated. Ship server to new datacenter, etc. I know i can dump all and then ship the server, but then i need to loan another server, etc. Too much problems and work that could be worst than keep here. Depends on that equipment, could be the edge router for the upstream provider, but it could also be routing issue (just few minutes to fix if they know it) or it could be a cable or switch behind that router. If it is a switch or ethernet blade on that router I would think it would be redundant and have to ethernet nics and two switches on the backend to make sure there is maximum uptime, but I don't know their network, so its hard to say.

I did a whois on likewhoa.com and got thier dns servers IP, then I just did a traceroute to the 2 IP's. Both of them came back the same, dead at the first hop into likewhoa. Bone if they know what the issues are, and have the hardware to fix it, then it should be a pretty quick fix. If not, then hold onto your dicks boys, and hope that your trades aren't all gone when they get back up

That will only work if you've hit likewhoa in the last 24 to 48 hours, otherwise thier DNS info will not be in your ISP's cache, that's why I had to do the whois first, then do a trace based on thier dns servers IP'sOriginally posted by justsexxx

I moved from them on the second downtime,
ie they were down 3 months ago
and then last week I decided to move on the second down time
since then its been down 4 times,
and is down now,
IM not done moving,
my new host cant move over the content,
lol
at any rate,
I was gonna pay a big part of my last bill,
but after this downtime
I think I shoot for a even larger discount,
stan and nick are great guys,
adn the tech support from the noc is the best,
its too bad they messed something up,
but this is business,
