That is fucked up

How can any sane person ever think that what these cops did was not over the top?

Why does she need to take a shower if she was arrested for loud music? Would you want to take a shower infront of alot of onlookers (young scared female).

Why was she forced in the chair? For not taking a shower? What is that all about?

She was choked until she passed out and the cops come in and leave saying 'there's nothing wrong with her'. Uh yeah ok dipshit - how about we drive on over to your trailer grab your wife and choke her till she passes out?

Nevermind if this video only shows the police acting badly and doesn't show the lead up. What they did was over the top - especially if the girl wasn't drunk and was only arrested for loud music.

I actually admire this girl for standing up for herself and her rights. She believed she was wrongfully arrested and refused to be physically forced into taking a shower. I'd really like to know the reasoning behind the whole shower thing - anyone care to enlighten us?

well goddamnit!
I hate these fucked up stories where you can NEVER know who's right.
Sometimes chicks get special treatment (like... a chick can say someone raped her after having sex with him) and win.
But sometimes pigs get brutal too..
(pigs=cops)

I find it amazing how many Amercians cheer the arrival of their police state, and believe that anyone who is arrested and does not fall to their knees and start giving rim jobs, is not cooporating and deserves what they get.

Truly pathetic,

We will see a result like Rodney King. The cops get acquited, and the jury makes a huge award.

Then more cases come forward, and juries see past awards as an indication of corruption and a trend. The awards become huge, with heavy punative damages.

Finally, when all alternatives have been exhausted, and the government treasury is bare, the cops will be reigned in.

:disgust

She was in a locked room did it really matter if she was in the chair or not.

She was being booked after having being arrested, so she would not have been before a judge yet, nor be at a state prison but a city jail.

tony286 06-30-2006 08:28 PM

from the video it looks like they are getting ready for a large lawsuit.

Prison yes, but a city jail shouldn't be demanding that someone take a shower unless they have been in front of a judge and ordered to be held for any length of time. Even if she was drunk they would have held her for 12 hours (or whatever that jurisdictions "dry-out" time is) then she would have either been able to bond out or would be taken in front of a judge the following day if she couldn't afford bond (maybe a couple days in some places).

She said the shower was where the guards could watch. I think chances are good they just wanted to humiliate her.

Juratovac arrested Tanner in March 2005 in the alleyway behind her Flagler Beach home after she "refused orders to disperse, became loud and argumentative while intoxicated," according to a police report. This is the arrest that led to the restraint chair.
She was in her alleyway. Seems more like she should of got a ticket rather then arrested.
