Prison yes, but a city jail shouldn't be demanding that someone take a shower unless they have been in front of a judge and ordered to be held for any length of time. Even if she was drunk they would have held her for 12 hours (or whatever that jurisdictions "dry-out" time is) then she would have either been able to bond out or would be taken in front of a judge the following day if she couldn't afford bond (maybe a couple days in some places).
She said the shower was where the guards could watch. I think chances are good they just wanted to humiliate her. |
