5 days is not enough. The major attraction, London Eye, Tower of London etc are just the tip of the iceberg.

If you want to be romantic take her to the opera at St Martins In The Field. I guarantee you she will be sucking your cock and swallowing no questions asked all night after.

Heathrow and Gatwick have express trains straight into the capital so either will do.

If you want to stay in tourist central book up in any hotel in W1.

I always find flying into London from America fucks you for a day so you will really only have 4 days. The opera at St Martins is excellent. Very informal. Plus you can see the National Gallery, Portrait Gallery, Trafalgar Square, Downing Street, Admirals Way and Buckingham Palace before yu do the opera as they are all in the same area.

In five days you can skim the surface of the city but don't plan on going beyond the city. If can be romantic if you know where to go. Where that is depends on the time of year and day. As far as time of the year goes. If you want chance at sunshine try late june and early July but remember there isn't much air conditioning here. Lastminute.com is a good place to book hotels at good rates.

awesome info thanks. if we do this, it will be our first time there, so i am OK with just skimming through the city. because if we really like it we'll make sure to take a longer trip another time

Food sucking is such an outdated stereotype. This is one of the top cities of the world you can get whatever type of food whenever you want. You will find some of the best chefs in the world in London but even the stuff doesn't cost a fortune can be very good indeed. No matter which type of food you want to eat it is here to be had from traditional fish and chips to fantastic Indian food and even *gasp* American food beyond buger bars.

Wather only sucks if you don't like mild weather. I don't like snow that much and it more or less never snows in London. It gets pretty hot in the summers these days but rarely 100+ which suits me fine. It rains sometimes but not as much as in the Northern part of the UK and certainly no more than some American cities such as Seattle.

And is costs ££££ not $$$$ but if you are going to go to a world class city you will pay money . New York isn't cheap either.

Yeah but that is any major city. People just put their head down and get on with things when they are walking the streets. It is just something you learn when living in a major city because it makes things easier than being the one person on the tube that accidentally made eye contact with the drunk on the train.

Most Lononders are very helpful to tourists if asked nicely. I have the accident people hate to hear and I am usually treated okay in central London. Though there are some parts of London where if people ask I say I am Canadian but those aren't really places tourists are going.

The Rich Mans Guide to London

If you are into Indian food London has some of the best in the world
You can take a romantic River Thames cruise with dinner., the Thames looks great at night. Leicester Square ( pronounced Lester ) (http://www.londonnet.co.uk/ln/guide/...icestersq.html ) has tons of bars and clubs and Covent Garden ( http://www.coventgardenlife.com/ ) is an amazing shopping restaurant area
The Neal street restaurant in Neal street was my favorite but don't expect any change out of $300 when you eat there with a good wine ( http://www.toptable.co.uk/details.cfm/qs/rid%7C1330/ ) If you have exotic tastes its a great place for Fungi ( mushrooms ).
Richmond on Thames is a nice place just a few miles outside of London good food and shopping. Oxford is also not too far from London and has some beautiful old buildings and colleges.....

I've always said that New York is London on speed 24/7....

Airline = Virgin... Great service. I used to fly them when I went to Internext in Vegas as a direct flight from UK. The best of all definitely.

London is very expensive !!! What you pay in US$ over there.. You'll pay in UK£'s here.

If you smoke, you're looking at uS$10 a pack of 20 But you'll be able to bring in duty free

How much were you planning on spending for a night on a hotel. The UK is the only country that most hotels still quote per person, not just for the room. There's a Holiday Inn in Welbeck St. W1 which is a good one and is in the middle of the city.

You will def have to wander round Soho at night which is our answer to a red light district but is more of a pink light due to our laws... LOL. If you do, a great place for a late night/early morning coffee is Bar Italiia Frith St.

Clubbing is a pain in the butt.. If you're not a member or known.. You line up and if you're lucky they let you in. The best clubs are known by word of mouth rather than those who advertsie, so are more downmarket. Drinks inside clubs can be from around US$15 upwards...

I could go on and on but that's enough... And I hope I didn't put you off..

I would suggest not going on the London eye... I find it as boring as hell and so did many people....although I went in the morning, might be nicer seeing the whole of london at night when its lit up though (might be more romantic). So if you do decide to go on it, go at night (make sure london is full of lights!).

It would really make it more romantic and make you look clever if you learn about most of Londons landmarks (such as the Gherkin or the Dildo as some call it!), especially the ones you can see whilst your on the london eye so that once your at the top of the eye you can say to your wife 'Look, there is the Gherkin, it was built by the most famous architect company Arup, and on your left there is the Millenium bridge, it started shaking during a few days after it was built. There is the GLA etc....'

Here are some links that could help you(!):

'Erotic gherkin' for London skyline - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/893161.stm
Millennium Bridge - http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/sta...ge/default.stm
The GLA photo - http://www.christiedigital.co.uk/rec...n-Assembly.jpg

Also, all Museums in London are Free (unlike some other countries), and are so much better than other museums in other countries! Make sure you see the science museum first...

Also Tate and Tate Modern is a good place too, it is an art gallery (both modern and old masterpieces), most of it is free to view but I think there are some sections you have to pay. The modern section has some funny stuff that some say it's amazing and some say is absolute bollocks but either way good to see it and take the piss out of it if you don't like them.

Make sure you don't get run over by cars! We drive on the opposite sides to you, so when crossing the street, look Right first then left!

Oh yea and there is lots of theatre shows in london, here are the main ones:
http://www.londontheatre.co.uk/londo...tson/index.htm

Les Miserables is meant to be really good. (my friend has seen it 13 times!)
Lion King is good.

Also the Albert Hall (http://www.royalalberthall.com) has some shows from time (usually expensive ticket prices depending on where you sit) to time and it's in south kensington (most expensive place to live in london), a flat is about hahaha163;1 million pounds. A show which I would recommend there is Cirque du Soleil' (like a circus but in a theatre). Not sure if it's on at the moment though.
