I'll never forget how Palestinians celebrated in the streets when they heard about the 9/11 attacks. Palestine is being ruled by a political party with a military wing that throughout over the years has claimed responsibility for terrorist acts, the killing of civilians, suicide bombers, etc. They also claimed responsibility for the latest kidnappings. They did it for leverage to release all Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

I'm not sure the situation is solvable, because the West Bank is probably incapable of sustaining the population it has now. It certainly couldn't be a home to twice as many people, even if Israel were willing to permit that.
It's hard to imagine the violence going on for decades more. But it's just as hard to imagine why it should stop.Comment
