The end of the world

We went from horses to space shuttles in less then a 100 years, how far can technology progress until it reaches the peak? How many different ways can the cords of music be played? How many different types of porn niches, fast food burgers, cars, houses, toys, video games, etc, can they come up with before the possiblities of ideas run out? Are we approaching the end?
We got 3rd world countries armed with weapons of mass destruction ready to fight each other, known viruses that can wipe out huge populations in a couple of weeks.
And those problems alone are only going to progress into worse.
How much longer can we rape this planet? What do you guys think?

back when there were horses, no one even imagined what an engine would be like. cars were invented. no one even imagined what a computer would be like.

it's hard to fathom now what the future will bring, but it could bring anything, you have to be open to that. aliens could land and share their techologies (or start a war... and probably win very easily...) or anything. some people can't handle that air of possiblity..

good point about the possiblity of further technological advancement, but doesn't the viruses get more severe?
I mean all we need is a air born AIDS and we are done.

sure. we could also have the cure for cancer and AIDS tomorrow morning. anything is possible really. having the cures is somewhat of a bad example, because if people thought they were so close i'm sure we would have heard about it by now. however, anything is possible. someone might stumble across the right formula.

also, like i said, aliens could invade. they could invade tomorrow even. sit back and think about that. there are no governing rules in reality. in 5 minutes from now, gravity on earth could cease to exist for some reason, and we'd be all fucked then.

Humans are like Cancer to the earth. We destroy it little by little everyday. We eat up the goodness and shit it out. The ozone layer will be totally fucked in the years to come as the cloroflorocarbons that were dispursed in world war 2 are just starting to cause damage now. The '70's are when most of the harmful gases were used and we wont see that damage for quite some time yet, but when it happens, look out. I took a course on ozone depletion and the outcome wont be good!

The world ended 3 years ago. We are actually all sleeping in little incubators housed in some alien planet that is a trillion light years away. The aliens are running tests on all of us so that they can use as bitch slaves and cookie bakers (aliens like sweets, remember ET?) They are having trouble "taming" one group of people though. They are afraid the ones that repeat the words "Go Fuck Yourself" will poison the minds of their little alien offspring.

It's very ineresting how people are always saying things like: "We are polluting everything, killing animals, cutting trees" essentially raping the earth, but...how many of you would give up all the luxuries technology provides? Go out in loin cloths to live in caves, hunt for food etc etc...? Not a single one of you, so enjoy the earth and everything we have taken from it, most of us will be here for another 60 to maybe 70 years, so enjoy the party while you're here.

We are all benefitting immensley from our technological advancements, but it's coming at a price. I don't have a problem with that, do you?

Mike503 has a very good point, imagine going back to cavemen days and explaining to one of them about the techonology we have today, they were impressed when they found fire....try tell the bastard that we can communicate with people all over the earth in an instant, explain to him how political systems work, computers, cars, television, airplanes. You're damn right it would fuck him up.

Humans will gradully migrate towards space. Taking pressure off the planet. Thanks to the Human Gnome project. illness and disease will be a thing of the past. The future is bright because we can fix shit that goes wrong.
