You forget that when people state their income in 'figures' they usually include the two AFTER the decimal.

The Northeast is an expensive place to live. So is California. You need to make more in these places.

to be comfortable in a western country i'd need at least $10K a month
in a perferable country i could live very comportably on just $1000 a month

Not everyone spends everything they make :thumbsup I will say that with RE investments, I put a lot more into savings last year (which are getting ready to go into more RE investments) than I spent on monthly expenses. The question was what income amount would you be HAPPY with, not how much is your income :)
