server problem...any advice?

since i probably won't hear from support until tomorrow i was wondering if anyone might know the solution to this.

on a windows server when im trying to transfer files from one server to another i always getting "send error : connection reset" and eventually "Recieve error : Blocking call cancelled". i also notice when it does this i get disconnected from the remote desktop so it i didn't think it could be purely an ftp problem (using serv-u). is this a setting that is wrong? or a problem in their network?

Are you trying to FTP from one ftp server to another? Because there is no direct way of doing that.

one or more of these three will work:

Try changing the passive transfer mode from on to off (or vice versa). The option is on the 'advanced' tab of the 'session properties' window.

click "start"
click "run"
type \\ip address of server you want to connect to\c$

download skype.com on both machines and do a skype to skype transfer....

i tried changing the passive transfer option but still does the same thing. as for the other options while they might work, i shouldn't have to do such things just to upload files. i've never had problems like this before and especially with the remote desktop getting disconnected every time i try and upload something makes it seem very strange, almost like i can't have more than one connection to the server at a time.

On the serious side, have an admin look into it. Could be some firewall appliance

yeah, im not a fan of windows servers at all but some of my clients prefer i use them because its the only platform they know.

as for firewall issues, even when i turn it off it does the same thing. i should also mention that i can connect to the ftp and i can upload small files but the larger ones will upload about half then say send error: connection reset then the recieved error:blocking call cancelled. its like something is interupting it. but yeah, still waiting to hear back from support.

already tried both, still does it. maybe this bit of info from the serv-u logs might help.

"[4] Mon 26Jun06 07:41:17 - (000127) Error receiving file c:\www\mjjgh.wmv, aborting (127 kB/sec - 28475392 Bytes, packet timed out"
