a question for follow tattoo wearers

got my first tattoo on thursday and been doing the after care. Should it still sting and be red and warm to the touch?

When your body changes, so does your tattoo.. if you're fat, try not to loose weight. If you're skinny, try not to get fat.. If you're young, try not to get old.

Depends on how your body reacts. You could have slight ink poisoning. My friend had that happen and it went away after a few days.

If it does not get better in a few days, go have it looked at. My first tattoo was a 12 hour straight job and it did not hurt the next day. It was a little red, but tat went away quickly.

Depends on where you got it, how much actual black ink you had done on it. I'd give it 2 more days, if it still hurts, have it looked at.

how do I keep a tattoo dry and moist? aren't those words opposites?
do you mean moist like moisturized?

I'm going to get my 3rd one this afternoon ... on my foot. i'm scared. its supposed to be one of the most painful places ;/

would a numbing patch help?!

it is painful because there is no fat and muscles on this place. Too close to the bone. THe place in the bottom of the back is painful as well.
Try pills contra pain.

yes, it's normal.

but take good care of it!
the first care is very important for the colors and the lines definitions.

congratz on the tattoo!

keep the skin dry from 'water, beer etc' and 'moist ' with a good vasaline based onitment, but very lightly just to keep the skin from scabbing up and cracking . . is that clear to you now?

Yeah it will usually be that way for the first week or so, at least until it starts to scab over and start healing.

what he said and DON'T put Neosporin or ointments similar on it like some artists will tell you. That pushes the color out, you don't want to help it heal. lotion and Tattoo goo keeps is clean while it heals naturally

As long as you put the ice in a bag a wrap it in a towel or something similar, it shouldn't be a problem. Did they wrap your tattoo with anything?

Just don't wash it to much, if you dry it out then you could loose some color in peeling.

Just keep in nice and moist with the ointment they gave you , and follow the advice EdgeXXX gave about the ice in the towel.

BTW it looks good!
