Damn straight ... and I didn't missspell Lensmen either.
I've had a Nikon F70, with a 35-135 Sigma 1:4 - 5.6 and a pretty decent Metz T46 flash for a few years and never gotten into photography too much. A while ago I noticed the hidden passion and now I need to buy some more lenses for it. Got two questions for you: 1. Is there a noticable difference in quality between the more expensive Nikon lenses and the cheaper Tamron/Sigma/you-name-it ? I'm not doing photography professionally or anything, it's just a hobby ... I do mostly sport shoots, so I guess the light sensitivity (or however it's called in English) should be pretty high. 2. I need a place to get some stuff online. I can imagine that it's a lot cheaper to get it online than anywhere else. Hopefully some serious content providers or hobby photographers can guide me here a little. All help appreciated. |

In sports shoots lighting is secondary to camera speed.
SOME photogs put namebrands over trying things out. |

true, but he's doing sports photography where film speed, and lens speed would be just one hair above lens quality.
Don't get me wrong I'd try for all Nikkor if possible, but like Gem said I'm a name brand guy when it comes to certain things. Been ripped off one too many times by cheap brands (again, on certain things) I too do photography as a hobby. I have Nikon F5, a Bronica ETRsi, and a Sony DSC707... Ok, it's an expensive hobby. But when I need to take picstures of my ass, I have the right equipment and that's what counts. Here is what I've got my eye on next: Nikon - Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED Vibration Reduction Lens. "Nikon's new 80-400mm high-power zoom lens features an innovative Vibration Reduction (VR) system that allows handheld supertelephoto shooting at dusk, at night and even in poorly lit rooms. The Lens' VR system minimizes image blur caused by camera shake, and offers the equivalent of shooting at a shutter speed three stops (eight times) faster*. The lens offers a natural viewfinder image even during VR operation and also detects automatically when the photographer pans. This exciting new Nikkor is ideal for candid portrait, sports photography and more." http://www.ritzcamera.com/cgi-bin/nc...fnbr=&cgmenbr= Great for sports photography, however I don't think it's compatible with your camera, Eq. And EQ, WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH YOUR SIG?!?! It wrecks my fuckin browser! ![]()

I love my 707.
I bought my first digicam practically when they came out. It was crap, but I used it. I just got the 707 about 5 months ago. I Love it!! I hightly recommend it. At 5.0 megapixels, you will get really good quality images.
