    screwed over by a "friend"?

    Anyone ever been screwed over by someone you thought was a good friend?

    I know someone that now I realize used me for whatever suited their needs, led me to believe we were friends over a couple years, and then took off when I wasn't needed anymore.

                              Yep, but the sad thing is that I didn't heed the warnings that were given me. I got a LOT of "I told you so!" when the screw over happened. Sometimes I think I'm a better judge of people than I really am.

                                      This person used my name to further their own. They have also sidled up with another well know webmaster to further their name even more. Sadly, that webmaster will only know the truth when it's too late, or maybe when they're out several thousand dollars in one way or another.

                                          Made it hard to make new ones too with such low expectations. It's me against the world now, gets lonely but it's better than constantly having that knife in my back.

                                                      Oh yeah...I get taken advantage of all the time....Lately, I've been trying not to be soooo nice. Usually I really bend over backwards for people when given the oppertunity, but I'm not able to do that anymore because most people now-a-days are just looking for the better deal. It sucks.

                                                              I did a lot of stuff with this person too. Help them move into their new place and helped re-decorate. I even went out of my way to help repair his failing relationship by bridging the gap between them (for all the help it did anyway).
                                                              This person even tried to scam me out of $20,000 in some kind of "investment" opportunity with some of his other con friends.

Yes of course we all have helped out people that we thought were our friends and especially particular ones that we go out of our way to do extra things for. I have many stab wounds in my back and I bet we can go out drinking for a week and not finish going over them all. Some stab wounds are very deep but I have found that the people that inflicted them have done so and gone on their merry way without a second thought and my dwelling on this is actually causing me more harm than it is to them. I guess this is what it means to let things go eh?
