At what point did you decide to work in adult full time?

When was it that you decided "Hey I can do this full time now!" ???

I think it was around 21 that I said that, couldnt tattoo any more here in oregon, so things just took off and went crazy for me in adult...

Do you ever wish you did something else? Do you ever get so bored of this biz that you don't want to do it any more?

What makes you stay?

I get bored, but I have found that I need to re-motivate myself to gain interest again, a new project, or just a new plan for that period of time... something to make this all a bit more constructive.

I think that the reason I stay in this business is the fact that I love porn, I like to do alot of business stuff, and I love the constant challenges that we overcome in the industry, I also love the people, there's alot of great people to hang out with, too many to name in fact.. and I meet more cool people every day...

What do you guys think? Discuss...

when I first started out 10 years ago I was director of marketing and sales for Python - didn't look back

you have to be happy at what you do and now they people I know are more than just business acquaintances - they are family

you can always get another job - so quit when it stops being fun

I love working in adult.

When I did mainstream stuff I was writing on home construction, poker, weddings, dog traning but it was mostly factual stuff and it never let me be creative whereas adult is the complete opposite.

I can go as wild as I like and I am never writing the same thing twice. The people are a much closer knit community too and everyone is much friendlier and helpful, not to mention the money is better too.

As well as stories ive started to blog which makes things a bit interesting but I want to learn more things such as TGP's and paysites, how they work, how to set one up and things. Im also thinking of setting up a story content site but don't know if it would go down well as most people like exclusivety on their stories...Lots of things coming for the future, that's the good thing about adult, you are never done learning!

Back when I started I was on a disability so basically, I went full time from the star. Although, at that time I knew absolutely shit about business of any kind, no idea how to build any type of website, i just didn't know shit lol. So took awhile to learn the stuff I had to.

hmmmm, I think when I hit the 500.00 a day mark with my free sites I decided to do it exclusively.
Of course, I think that was about 4 months into it and at the time, that was a ton of money.

Once this business was making more than my potential earnings once I would have finished school, it was clear where I was going. I don't regret it and I like this business. I am a little bored in adult and have branched into mainstream and see myself getting deeper into that area, definitely more money to be made in mainstream.

I went fulltime when the amount of money I was making in adult felt comfortable. About 5K. At that point leaving brick and mortar meant I would lose a lot of my monthly income but I knew I could get it back in 3 or 4 months. Which isn't a very long time.

Now I feel pretty fucking confident about myself. In B&M I always thought I couldn't leave or I'd have to rebuild myself to where I was and it could take 5 to 10 years... In adult I feel like I could sell it all and then recreate it in months... Feels liberating.

I was a programmer for a company and my supervisor used to treat me like absolute shit and embarrass me in front of other coworkers.
One guy witnessed it said to me Why do you put up with that?

I was so bullshit because I was new and I really was doing a good job and my boss was getting good feedback on me from other clients in the company.
I was always early, stayed late. I wanted to do well.

And I had worked in adult for a little bit and made some side money, and I thought What am I doing this stupid fucking job and getting talked down to for?

So I packed up my shit and walked out right there, left my boss and email and never worked for anyone else ever again.

Ive never walked out on a company with no notice before, but I couldnt take it.
Theres something about being talked down to in a corporate environment where yopure stuck in a cube and have to sit there and take it that turns my brain off and I just had to walk out.

I also used to take the train into work and every morning I was tired, and Id look at other people and see they were all miserable. No one wanted to be on their train. People had their faces in their hands trying to get a little sleep, everyone looked depressed.
I didnt want to end up like that.

I've been there, went corporate right outside of high school... 18 years old programming, making just a little bit under what the project managers were making... most didn't care, but there was this one yuppie bitch that would wear the sweater around her neck that had it out for me

anyway, she got moved to a different office... i got promoted and a 50% raise all in about 1.5 yrs

the .com days were great
