I saw something last night that brought a tear to my eye.

I was leaving a store and as I approached my car in the parking lot, I saw 3 people standing beside it. There was a little girl holding balloons, her mother, and her mother's mother.

I didn't think too much of it and I glanced away. A split second later I looked up and saw the balloons flying away. At this point I was expecting the little girl to start crying about losing her balloons but instead she was standing there waving to the balloons and she said "Happy Father's Day Daddy."

Then I noticed the balloons had a card attached to them as well.

The Mother and Grandmother both looked like they had lived a very hard life. Neither of them said a word but you could see the pain of their loss written across their faces.

As sad of a sight as this was, I couldn't help but smile as I teared up.

Awwwww.... that made me cry a little too. So sad when they lose a parent at such a young age. This is why I make sure and their dad makes sure we let them know each and everyday that we love them and care for them..... not JUST on Father's Day, we value you "our dad" as my 8 yr old tells me. lol

That was one lucky Dad to have such a caring and loving little girl. People could take a lesson from that story. Things happen without warning. Thanks for sharing this.

Wow that is sad. But what a great way that little girl's family came up with to help her remember her daddy. Obviously she's still being well looked after.

Damn, that was sad. Cool thing to do if you had kids in that situation. Help them connect with the loss, and deal with it productively.
