Not really, both my cars are convertibles but it's too hot during the summer here to put the top down. On the rare occasions that I actually take the Spyder out, it's usually either Spring, Fall, or at night.

Kimo 06-19-2006 11:17 AM

no summer car yet, but next year ill probably get a semi old cadillac as my summer car, i live in a pretty small beach town in the summer so not much need for a car anyway

MaddCaz 06-19-2006 11:18 AM

wish I had the scratch for a 'summer' car

Manowar 06-19-2006 11:20 AM

damn that diablo is pimp

Peaches 06-19-2006 11:28 AM

I'm poorer than the rest of you and live on a cliff, so my "summer" car is the Wrangler I bought. It's a great sports car/convertible for us poor mountain folk :)

Daily driver is a Cherokee - but it has the Hemi so after driving the Wrangler, I get in the Cherokee and all of a sudden I'm backing out of my driveway at 70mph ;)

A F355 and a Diablo would make a nice couple in the garage :)

Hows the maintenance on the Diablo? I don't know anyone with a Diablo so it's hard to do research if you wanna buy such car (especially here in NL where no one has Ferrari's or Lambo's).

I saw a black Diablo a while ago and it looked tight, white interior.....too bad they're not many Diablos for sale over here so there's not much to choose from. They are 4 for sale now and only 1 of them is affordable (1 is a 500k$ GTR and 2 are around 200k$, both 30 SE's)

I have to put a new exhaust from the cat on back, because the cat is bad. Overall though, as long as I drive it regularly and keep up on regular maintence, it's a solid car. The only people I hear about having to keep repairing things on their Lambo usually race or just plain abuse them. People that own both Lambos and Ferraris say that the maintence cost are about the same.

It's just as hard to find a Diablo and especially a Countach for sale in the US. There are a lot of online ads for them, but the majority of those are sold. I would guess that there are around a dozen diablos for sale in the US right now. I don't see many 355 GTS for sale over here either. I see a ton of 355 Spiders, but not GTS. I like the Coupes and especially the GTS.

I heard that there is a Diablo in NL that has a couple of hundred thousand kilometers on it.

I've noticed the same over here; lots of 355 spiders for sale and the weird thing is that they didn't make that many spiders (compared to GTS and berlinettas). Mine's a '95 GTS, targa seems the way to go....with the roof off, it's basically a spider and you don't have a soft top the rest of the year :)

Thanks for the info. Just noticed there's a yellow 96 VT for sale now :) That's probably basically the same as yours.

Yea, I don't think there is any difference between the 95 and 96 VTs. Is there a online ad for it? My car has only 2 previous owners. The previous one didn't take that good care of it, so I need to restore the interior.

I used to not like Ferraris until I rented a 355 in Las Vegas. They are so comfortable and smooth shifting, that I was sold on getting the 355. I don't like Vipers anymore now. I rented one of them and my right arm got a major workout (and it wasn't from masturbating) along with the clutch foot.

I've seen a couple of people on L-P and Ferrari Chat that are in the adult business. Paulie_B, a moderator on Ferrari Chat is in the adult business. Are there any other boards for Lambo? What do you go by on L-P?

Hey, your the one that posted the url to that house with 250+ exotic cars, 22 Lambos, 1st Buggatti in US and Ron in the pics. That is one bad ass house. Those pics were overwhelming when I first saw them. So, does that house belong to the yellow book guys son?

shermo 06-19-2006 02:00 PM

I have my eye on a 62 Lincoln Continental convertible with the original suicide doors, etc... For now I just pick whichever of these 2 that I feel like driving... Gas milage sucks on both, so it's not an issue. :1orglaugh

Yeah, the ad for the 96 VT is here.

The other ones in NL are over here (I hope the urls work, and they're dutch too).

355 shitfs are very smooth yeah :) Is it much harder with the Diablo?

Looks like a decent price for the 96 Diablo VT if it's in decent condition. The 355 seems to have a smoother shift and easier clutch then the Diablo. The 355 seemed to be looser though and not as solid in the shifts. It might of been because the 355 was a rental car, so it was abused a lot. I sure did abuse it some myself and let my girlfriend learn how to drive stick with it. They both seem to have the same ride. I haven't played with the shocks on my Diablo and just leave it on Auto for the shock adjustments. It feels like I'm riding lower in the Diablo and I can't see out of the back or the sides as well as the 355.

How much do you pay for the Gimp? Just wondering if it's cheaper per mile than the price of gas.

adamthick 06-20-2006 06:12 PM

:1orglaugh Well, if its a real lifestyle gimp then its FREE, cuz he only lives to serve, but if your gimp ain't really into it, and is just doin it for a gig, then its gonna cost more than gas. But having an instant footstool and someone to make you a sandwich anytime is priceless.

I'd be concerned about a workers comp claim..those can get very costly.

sickkittens 06-21-2006 07:28 AM

Haven't taken mine out much. Sucks on gas, too.
