A complete fighter has both a stand up AND a ground game. One without the other is not a complete package.
That being said, I don't think somebody with 6 months experience in TKD would be any match at all for a BJJ black belt. I have years of Muay Thai experience, and I'm no match for my black belt instructor.

Don't forget the pummelling game. Stand up grappling is very much important.
3 main styles of MMA
Muay Thai for striking
Wrestling for pummeling
BJJ for grappling
It's a young man's game, and I seriously fucking am impressed at you doing it so hardcore. I did the 6 day a week program back in 2003, I just can't see doing it again now.

Yeah, these old bones and joints are sore as hell. It certainly is for young men. I'm just lucky to have a great friend who's a black belt, so all the private lessons make a big difference.
Sometimes I'll spend two hours practicting three or four sweeps from spider guard over and over and over without any time after for rolling. My friend Sydney is really technical, so we spend a lot of time on technique.
Man, I hate assholes that use canopener to bust open a newbie's guard. It's such a rookie maneuver and not to mention useless against someone with a thick enough neck. You won't see any can openers when black belts fights.
I bet it was a guillotine that did it to him. The first few times you get caught in one, almost everyone wiggles around and tightens it up without knowing it. I've left a nice ring of bruises from Mata Leao though, on a GFYer actually.
I weighed in today, 255lbs. I should be 240 by Vegas, and 230 by Miami in August, if not less.
I was 240 January 1. Man looking back I can't believe it. I went for a run with a 45 pound plate clutched to my chest the other day to see what it was like. I'm amazed I could even move before.

Yah man, when I was talking to Fuze, he was like you were a a mad man.
That is no small feat. If I can get back to 210, OMG. All my Christmas's would come at once.
Seriously guys, everyone knows you can't stop a TKD tripple salto reverse screwdriver kick with an armbar!
A very good friend of mine is a TKD black belt. He posts here as Agent White. I have video from him of him step in side kicking a guy literally 20 feet. There's a time and a place for a good side kick or crescent kick for sure, but it won't help you in a clinch.

Oh yeah!? How about stopping a quadruple slippy slide twin axe flip flop with a knee bar!? Huh!?
Probably shouldn't tell him that's also called a rear naked choke. Imagine the fun he'll have.
I was rolling with Carlos Sapao the other day, and he gave me his back. So instead of keeping hooks in, I wrapped up a figure 4 body lock and started to try for the choke. Man, he flipped out of it and damned near ripped my ankle off before I knew what the fuck hit me. Learning experience.
you shouldn't even be allowed to perform a can opener on a white belt, it's too dangerous... Rener gets by with the RNC no problem, no pain, just go to sleep my child...
Lets put it this way.. I'm not even sure I can list an handful of MMA fighters who train in taekwondo, but I can go on and on of fighters who train in BJJ
