Anyone on here using the "Digichat" software for one of their sites?

Curious as to how well this software works in realtime, since the company really doesn't offer any info on any sites currently using it. And they definitely want some BIG bucks for their top of the line package.

AND..if anyone can suggest an audio/video chat program that works better than digichat does, would love to hear which one that would be.

I am using it and I would suggest you not buy it. I paid them over $4K for some custom modifications to the a/v part of the system in February last year and it was meant to take a month to develop. Mind you, this was $4K over and above the price of the application. They gave me a buggy, non-working end product and to date are still giving me the run around on fixing it.

Do business with them at your own risk.

I thought about using digichat as an old client of mine uses it for his chat website but its resource and bandwidth heavy. *be advised* If I was going to run some full on chat site then it might be a worthwild investment. However for the time being a free copy of parachat works pretty good. Their paid copy is pretty cheap at 4.95/mo and another one at 17.95/mo (which can do banners ect ect)

Digichat does have some cool features though and their latest version does webcams I believe.

We used them for years when the product was Java based. When they went to Flash they made us pay for new software despite a fully paid service agreement. We were never able to make the flash software work, they never bothered to tell us we needed a flash server until after they took our money. I would stay away from those people.

Thank you so much for that information. That is why GFY can prove invaluable at times! Sorry to hear that you are going through all that crap. But do appreciate you sharing your experience with the program.

I'm wanting a program that has BOTH audio & video in it..and those are far and few between. That's why I was looking at digichat.

No worries; it would be inconsiderate of me to not warn you especially given my experiences with them.

http://www.camdatepro.com/ - I used this software before digichat and the ONLY reason I went with digichat was because they promised me they could provide me a many to many environment. The camdatepro guys were honest and told me it would take them too much time and I was on a tight schedule. Camdate is a very good chat application for what it cost me and unlike digichat, it is not java based.

Hey Probono, this may sound cruel, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who has experienced issues with these dweebs.
