It is the song I want played at mine as the ceremony starts. When I was a moody depressed teenager I put it on one night (love REM) and actually listened to the words and it stopped me from doing something very stupid.

I want Fish Heads played as the ending song btw.

Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt"

:sadcrying :sadcrying :sadcrying :sadcrying :sadcrying

God damn. That song is so depressing. I'm slightly manic myself but I always think "Hey, atleast when I turn 50 I won't be depressed." Then Johnny comes along to burst my bubble.

Walk The Line Quote:
Wife (referering to a meeting with music producers):You look like you're going to funeral!
Johnny: Maybe I am.

Johnny Cash is the pivotal of smug coolness in my book :thumbsup

Dearest the shadows
I live with are numberless
Little white flowers
Will never awaken you
Not where the black coaches
Sorrow has taken you
Angels have no thoughts
Of ever returning you
Wouldnt they be angry
If I thought of joining you?

Gloomy sunday

Gloomy is sunday,
With shadows I spend it all
My heart and i
Have decided to end it all
Soon therell be candles
And prayers that are said I know
But let them not weep
Let them know that Im glad to go
Death is no dream
For in death Im caressin you
With the last breath of my soul
Ill be blessin you

Gloomy sunday

Dreaming, I was only dreaming
I wake and I find you asleep
In the deep of my heart here
Darling I hope
That my dream never haunted you
My heart is tellin you
How much I wanted you
Gloomy sunday

Viki goes all old school an shit. :winkwink:

The same 20% that spent years trying to forget Manilow ever existed.

"Tears in Heaven" is a great pick, but I gotta' go with "Dust in the Wind." Holy shit that song is depressing.

JenUncut 06-16-2006 10:18 PM

Good pick SomeGuy, BUT lamenting about the uselessness of life is nothing compared to moaning over the loss of a child. DAMN now I'm getting depressed LOL.

Goodbye to you my trusted friend
We've known each other since we were nine or ten
Together we climbed hills and trees
Learned of love and A B C's
Skinned our hearts and skinned our knees.

Goodbye my friend it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
Think of me and I'll be there

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed were just seasons
Out of time......

Goodbye Papa please pray for me
I was the black sheep of the family
You tried to teach me right from wrong
Too much wine and too much song
Wonder how I got along.

Goodbye Papa its hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
Little children everywhere
When you see them I'll be there.

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons
Have all gone.

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons
Have all gone.

Goodbye Michelle my little one
You gave me love and helped me find the sun
And every time that I was down
You would always come around
And get my feet back on the ground.

Goodbye Michelle it's hard to die
When all the birds are singing in the sky
Now that the spring is in the air
With the flowers everywhere
I wish that we could both be there

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the stars we could reach
Were just starfish on the beach

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the stars we could reach
Were just starfish on the beach

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the wine and the song like the seasons
Have all gone

All our lives we had fun
We had seasons in the sun
But the hills that we climbed were just seasons
Out of time......

We had joy we had fun
We had seasons in the sun

LOL...it's true. OMG, I remember back in college days I had this friend who, leaved by his gf, got drunk as shit and played this song over...and over...and over, for 3 days! Can't get it out of my mind since then, after 14 years!

That American Idol loser's theme....."You had a bad day.... You took it up the ass......." or whatever.

sniperwolf 06-16-2006 11:41 PM

alot of good stuff here.. they do become so depressing while you can relate to the song

rowan 06-16-2006 11:57 PM

This isn't a particularly fantastic musical track but the first time I heard it the lyrics really grabbed me, particularly the first two parts. Is it a woman singing about the loss of her partner, the father to her child? I don't know but it saddens me anyway...

I need to have you near me
In a time when nothinghahaha8217;s lasting long
And I need to feel you close to me
As my lover I need to keep you warm

Cause my life is so unreal without you
Youhahaha8216;re an angel, I see you passing by
And the voice that calls me under
Is a mother crying for her child

When the sun lights a rainbow
Of the tears of joy I cry for you
And the dreamers dream forever
Then I know Ihahaha8217;ll be here with you

When the sun
Lights a rainbow

When the sun lights a rainbow
Of the tears of joy I cry for you
And the dreamers dream forever
Then I know Ihahaha8217;ll be here with you
