Air race show supported by RED BULL in Saint Petersburg this saturday
Hi guys, I will visit this show for sure! Come and joing me I think I will be a lot of fun
here the link to the offisial website Red Bull air race The Red Bull Air Race will make a much anticipated touch down in St Petersburg, Russia on Saturday 17th June. The competition will be held in the evening during the city?s famous ?White Nights? season when the sky remains light throughout the night. St Petersburg will be the fourth stop in the Series which consists of nine worldwide races. The event will be based on the Arrow of Vasilievsky Island, with the race itself taking place over the Neva River, against the spectacular backdrop of the Winter Palace, home of Russia?s renowned museum, The Hermitage. Pilots will face one of the most challenging race tracks of the season in St Petersburg. Flights over water space always require extra skill as there is the added difficulty of determining exact altitude over water. An extremely compact course has been designed with more gates than usual which will make for an exciting and fast race. With ample viewing around the entire track, spectators will really feel part of the action. American, Kirby Chambliss is currently leading the World Series, having won the first race of the season in Abu Dhabi and last month?s contest in Berlin. Hungary?s Peter Besenyei who won in Barcelona follows in second position and it?s currently a close race between Chambliss, Besenyei and last year?s champion, American, Mike Mangold, with only one point standing between them in the world rankings. Only 10 pilots will be competing in St Petersburg. American, Michael Goulian has been forced to pull out of the competition, but with good reason. His wife is expecting their baby and it is due any time during the weekend of the race! This should not affect his chances though, as there are still five more races in which he has time to build up ranking points. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I went to it here in Barcelona, was a bit disapointed with it to be honest. Normal airshows are way more fun

I caught the Red Bull series while at the Reno, NV, International Air Races. Interesting routine that ALL entrants have to perform. You should enjoy it. Sit high if possible. Some of the pylon passes are really low!
