Oddly.. none have a tax rate of 60-70% either, and... looking at that list, some of these countries hardly have any tax to talk about. Germany and France are prob the highest - and they still come nowhere near 60-70%.

have you ever considered that when you translate the name of this country into your language that the full title is the entire name of the country, and the "of America" is NOT simply referring to the continent of north america (in which case they would have somehow 'forgotten' to place the word 'North' in the title for the past 200+ years)?

believe me, it is not named "country of continent". the only other people arguing this point are a couple of brits who seem like they're still pissed off over the revolutionary war that was fought in 1776. there aren't many british that feel that way but there are some, they are the same as the ignorant rednecks we have in this country that still consider the confederacy a part of their government.

actually Canada is comprised of several provinces (the equivalent of 'states' in their government) yet they do not refer to themselves as "Canada of (North) America" either

Basically the tax you are claiming to be "low" falls within the top 22 ish high taxation countries of the world - ranking 20th - in that US taxation is around 44% (standard) and 50% (all in).

My own country of origin is not even on that high-taxation list (kinda surprise) and where biz is operational - there are no payable taxes.

So.. says "something" I suppose - I'll just appreciate it more now :winkwink:

Is that right? You amaze me sometimes :winkwink:

True.. Canada IS called Canada - someone thought of that.

There is nothing wrong with calling the US - the "United States" either, because that's what it is. If you wish to name youself something else like any other country - feel free to do so. "America" is already taken - that's a continent.

Actually that information is really to old to be accurate and the US rate is much lower than the 44% listed there because of the tax cuts made during the current Administration. The US has been known to have lower taxes than the majority of Western first world nations, primarily because Americans do not want socialism. Now :321GFY asswipe.

It's people like Mr Izzz who discriminate against Canadians that really gets me

I bet when you look at maps of the world and see areas labelled "North America" and "South America" you think the words north and south are there to remind you of which way the magnetic poles of the earth lie, don't you? :1orglaugh

Again, I smell bullshit -- but that's what the Anti-U.S. crowd thrives on.

haha good one

Did I, or anyone else, every dispute this? I don't think so.

Back to the subject - your country is called the "United States of America".

What's the problem exactly?? :1orglaugh

you have north americans (including canada)

central americans

south americans

countries are within those territories

anyways don't blame me for the lack of a better term in your language i bet in other languages there is the term

estadounidenses :)
